Sometimes, we forget that arts and crafts are not only about doing what works but also about experimenting and finding out what works and what doesn’t. This is exactly how ‘Architextures meet Gelli Plate’ happened. We know that Architextures Tin Tiles are amazing embellishments and the Small Bases can be used as stencils, templates or embellishments themselves but… What if we used them as stamps? What if we covered them in acrylic paint and did some screen printing? What would happen if we used them with Gelli Plate? Well, we have the answer to that last question!
Our Crew member, Rosemary Morris, whipped out her Gelli Plate and some acrylic paints, unpacked her Patina Tin Tile and Medallion Base and got to do some experimenting.
‘I decided to use the new Architextures with my Gelli Plate to see if it would work. It did! I love how the prints came out.’ – explains Rosemary.
Materials used:
7gypsies Architextures Small Base – Medallion
7gypsies Architextures Tin Tile – Patina
Craft Paint – you can also use any Tattered Angels DECOR&DIY paints for this
A4 sheets of white paper
Tool: Gelli Plate
Rosemary shares with you her experiments layering colours and designs:
The process is so much fun! You can choose whichever colours you like: you can go for a variety of shades of the same colour or play with contrasting ones. You can layer the same design over and over or mix different designs to achieve the illusion of depth. There are so many possibilities!
Would you like toggle it a go? How about trying to use the Tin Tiles as stamps or the Findings on glass? Let’s have fun trying things out ! That’s what craftiness is all about, right? Whatever it is you do, make sure you share your experiments with us in the Collective.
Enjoy your crafting!
