This month the TA DT’s showing off our art journals and I’ve really enjoyed seeing the creations of the other designers. I use my art journal to try out different techniques and there’s a fair bit of hit and miss in them. But that’s the fun in journals – it’s all about experimenting.
Here’s one of the pages from my journal:
I misted a pink glimmer mist over the entire page followed by Patina glimmer mist over a leafy screen. I outlined the edges with a calligraphy pen to define the leaves then painted some glimmer glam in Private Meadow around the perimeter of the page.
I experimented with an image transfer of a bird and had fun with some musical print tissue tape. Both the tissue tape and the transfer had a translucent quality which allowed the misted background to peek through. Fun!
More misting fun on the chipboard bird cage.
Here’s the second page from the art journal; this time a canvas page.
I played with more mediums on this page – glimmer mists, chalkboard mists, glimmer glams, glimmer glaze and texture mediums.
Some close-ups:
An assortment of green acrylic paints, mists and flowers layered in a cluster and brought together by a Tattered Angels framed font and some butterfly images.
Having fun running some glimmer glam in Organic Green along the top of the page and allowing it to drip down the page.
A fun collage of wings, butterflies, a flower and buttons on the top of the page.
Thanks for dropping by and come back for even more inspiration from the rest of the design team.
