ATCs step by step and a layout too…

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to show you step by step how I created a couple of misted ATCs.

I used manila cards from Ranger and started out by adding some washi tape.

I then added a doily to one of the cards and some ribbon to the other and to attach them I used the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

My next step was to glue down some seqins.

When the glue was dry I painted my cards with gesso. For some reason the blue sequins turned pink. 🙂 I added another layer of gesso, after this photo was taken.

After the gesso dried I finally got to the fun part – adding mist! I sprayed the cards with two different colours of pink Glimmer Mist – Pink Poodle and Cupid. I dried the mist using my heat gun and added two or three layers of mist before I was happy with the result.

To further decorate my cards I painted some old jump rings with gesso. When the gesso was dry I misted them using Chalkboard Glimmer Mist Seven Seas.  I also added the same mist to a couple of flowers.

I love using my sewing machine and I always save the threads when cutting them off, because I love making little “nests” out of messy threads.

I glued the jump rings to my cards and added the thread “nest” and the flowers with some machine stitching.

My next step was to add some microbeads to the center of the flowers and to add some words, cut out from a book. The words says “And so the dream is awaken.”

Here’s a closer look at the microbeads…

The final things I did was to paint the microbeads with Glimmer Glaze Pinata, and to paint the journaling strips with Glimmer Glam Calm Before The Storm.

I hope you enjoyed this little peak into my process!

I have also created a layout where I used one of the fabulous stencils from Crafter’s Workshop, together with Glimmer Mist Graphite. This layout is about the very last time I drove our car, before we sold it and how I suddenly felt a bit sad to say goodbye.

I added Glimmer Mist Graphite also to the cheese cloth. The tiny circles were gessoed and then painted with Glimmer Glaze Pewter.

I also splattered some Glimmer Glam Calm Before The Storm, over my layout.

That was all from me today. Have a wonderful week and thank you so much for visiting the Tattered Angels blog! I hope you are all enjoying all the fabulous stencil projects posted throughout the month of June!

Hugs and Glimmer,

Anna

LOVE the step-outs and the ATC’s! I just finished an ATC swap and see that I’m going to have to give your technique a go 😉
