Bohemian Romance Colorful life interactive card

Hello my dear crafty friends!

Irit is here today and I am going to share my pop-up interactive card made with the new and most gorgeous collection – Bohemian Romance by Aga Baraniak. This collection is shabby/ pastel and the 8×8 paper pad has a variety special papers I used to make this card. Yes, the burlap is a part of this pad too. Actually, I used 100% of Canvas Corp products to make this project and the only non-CCB products are the rectangle and circle dies.

It looks like a regular greeting card.
But wait!
Here’s how it looks when you open the top part on the card…  the 4-pieces strip ” jumps” into your eyes as if by magic.

And this is how it looks from the side:

You can see all the layers in this card: the Kraft cardstock basic card, the purple speciality paper layer and then the pop- up part as the card “topper” and actually is a card over the card. Usually the top jumping part is the whole card. I decided to add the basic layers that make it possible to add sentiments, personal message or whatever you wish to add inside the card.

Product list:
Bohemian Romance 8*8” paper pad
Canvas Corp Kraft cardstock  12*12”
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Patina
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Wedding Pink
Stitched rectangles and circle dies- Elizabeth Crafts Designs

And as always, here is a full step by step tutorial for this project:

Cut basic Kraft cardstock card to 12*4 3/4”  and fold to half. Cut another Kraft cardstock piece for the pop- up topper to 11*4 1/4” and fold into half.

Die cut purple speciality paper from the pad  with the largest die set rectangle. Die cut one of the patterned papers into two smaller rectangles.Die cut the same purple paper, a similar pink paper and patterned floral paper with the small rectangle die  that fits 2 1/2” slots.

Make the pop- up part using Kraft cardstock 8*3 3/4” piece. First fold it into half horisontally.
Then mark the dots on the top and on the bottom , left and right sides, on 2 1/4”.
Then score the diagonal lines from the top left dot to the bottom right dot and from the top right dot to the bottom left.

Fold the horisontal line to the back as shown and fold the diagonal lines forward as shown.

That’s what you got when it’s folded triangle to triangle.

Cut another Kraft cardstock piece  to 10*3 3/4”. Score this strip on 2 1/2, 5 and 7 1/2”.
Fold it as shown and glue the 4 previosly die cut 2 1/4” rectangles.

Mark the central mark inside the topper Kraft card.
Glue the bottom triangle with the triangle top on the central mark.
Add glue to the upper triangle and close the upper flap.

This is how it looks when  glued from the top and the bottom and then opened.

Add liquid glue to the marked areas on the glued Kraft strip. Adhere the 4 rectangled strip over the bottom strip  center to center and fully opened.

This is how it opens.

Adhere the purple die cut rectangle over the basic Kraft card and glue the pop- up card over it. Embellish the card front with two die cut circles and hand cut patterned cardstock flowers. Hand cut the sentiment and adhere it over a piece of purple burlap (from the same 8*8” pad).Add a couple of die cut flower circles inside the card. Mist the card front with some patina and pink Glimmer Mist splashes.

I hope that you like my fancy card and you love our new, gorgeous Bohemian Romance collection.

See you soon again with more Canvas Corp inspiration.

This is one of the most beautiful, delicate and amazing cards I have seen. It is truly different. I fell in love with it at first sight and I hope that once I have healed from my surgery that I might be able to take a try at it. I will, no doubt, need coaching.

    Hi Irit!
I just finished making your beautiful interactive card (using Bohemian romance collection). I just have a question: I don’t understand why the pop-up card is glued inside the largest piece of kraft paper (folded in half). Is the blank kraft paper intended to fold over the sentiment page as a blank cover for the card, or is it intended to remain folded backwards, and why? Thank you very much for your time and offering this great project!
