Christmas Heart Shadow Box Ornament

Connie Hall here and today I want to share a Christmas shadow box ornament tutorial.  I absolutely love the Bohemian Romance collection and I have used every scrap. I have even ordered more to have in my scrappy stash.  I love the shades of purple and green and hints of pink.  I  added a cherub and some filigree elements to this upcycled mini heart valentine box.

Scissors,liquid glue,or hot glue, pencil, Small Heart box, black/rhinestone lace, white crochet lace, Twine for hanging, Cherub mould from stamperiam Crafter’s clay, The plastic bulb is for another project using the same paper pack.

I started by tracing the heart shapes on the back of the 12 x 12 Cardstock. Then cut out the shapes.

I used liquid glue for most of this project. Drying time is longer but it works good. I put paper on back of hearts

I also lined the inside of the boxes with patterned paper.

I used liquid glue on outside of heart shape and added a paper scrap from the collection.

I held the scrap piece of paper on until it dried.

I added a piece of white trim on one side of heart shape.

I added a thicker piece of black trim with rhinestones to the outer heart shape.
I still used the liquid glue. I used clips to hold in place until it dried.

I fussy cut several flower shapes to use on inside and outside of the ornaments.

I used mold and some crafter’s clay.  I only put clay in section I knew I would use.
The mold is very thick but I only added clay to the cherub and a Prima filigree mold.

I layered the inside with the fussy cut flowers and used foam dots to pop them up.
I did use hot glue to attach the filigree and cherub embellishment.
