Canvasing the streets

with lots of wonderful projects, aren’t you loving what the rest of the angels have done with canvas so far. And to think we’re only half way through the month — that means lots more glittery goodness to come.

In my world there’s nothing that makes me feel more like an artist than starring at a blank canvas. The possibilities are endless, especially when you combine with all of the fabulous products from Tattered Angels.

First up, my version of a subway sign.  I love the graphic design of these prints and decided to create my own.

To create this look I first used Blue Skies, Turquoise Blue and Meadow Green mists to put a variegated foundation of color.  Then I stuck letters down and painted over with white paint.  It’s such a fun experience to pull up the letters after the paint was dry and see the bright colors underneath.

Next up a smaller canvas…this one was all about play for me.

To start I glued some dictionary scraps and then sprayed with Jack Frost.  While the mist was still wet I swirled on some Big Apple glimmer glam.  Then a few layers of textured stamps and a diecut of more dictionary paper spritzed with Silver Sugar mist.

Now that the holidays are over, I needed something new for my mantle so I created a banner with some premade canvas banner pieces.

To started I used some paper doilies as a stencil and sprayed with Tattered Leather which I watered down just a bit for a lighter color.  I then sprayed more doilies with Olive Vine.  On top some chipboard letters that were painted with Pink Lipstick Glitter Glam and Penny Loafer Glitter Glaze.

Love the subway sign. Great technique – peeling off the letters to let the glimmer mist show through. Beautiful projects!
