Capture Your Vacation in Mixed Media Art

There is usually quite a bit of excitement when fall begins to show. Many are ready for cooler weather and the upcoming holiday season. Zuzia reminds us of just how we might miss the passing summer season with this gorgeous mixed media album. We are in love with the ocean theme that she perfectly captured with Tattered Angels paints, lots of texture, and even some sea shells!

Zuzia says, “I know that summer holidays have passed but since I miss them so much I decided to create a mini album reminding me of sunny days. Last year we went to Croatia and had a marvelous time there. The water really IS as blue as Tattered Angel’s True Turquoise Glimmer Mist. And what is more it is so warm that even I could swim in the sea.”

We love seeing such and array of our colors all lined up! For this project, Zuzia used our Glimmer Mists, Baseboard Mists, and Simply Sheer Mists. Each different formula of mist has its own unique properties, but they work together beautifully to create stunning mixed media pieces like Zuzia shows here.

Zuzia gives us a peek inside her mini album here. She created such beautiful backgrounds to perfectly showcase the photos of her trip to Croatia. The bits of green peeking out from behind her photographs almost make us feel like we are watching the seaweed sway in the ocean. Can you smell that salty air?

Along with the stunning color palate that Zuzia chose, she also used stencils and materials to add lots of yummy texture to this album. Adding texture to your project gives it another depth that is hard to achieve otherwise. Those anchors and fluffy clouds in the background are just darling!

We also love how she created the option to flip open the photos to reveal more behind. What a great way to add more photos to your page when there isn’t room to have several laid out flat. Interactive albums are great for adding the feeling that you are really exploring and reliving the memories all over again.

Along with the must-have scenery and family photos, don’t forget to photograph the small details of your trip. The pile of ropes that Zuzia has featured is a perfect example of capturing your surroundings that you may otherwise forget later.
