This month I got to play with fabric and Tattered Angels paints. It was so fun to turn old to new, Bland to bright, and boring to pretty. White is a great color, don’t get me wrong but color is much better.
For my first project I used a pair of my daughter’s worn out jeans and created a fun dress for my Kewpie Doll. I added a little lace trim and colored an old doily to finish is off. The colors used on this were Bahama Blue, Raven, Autumn Nights, Candy Apple Red, and Cranberry Zing.
For the second project I made a floral headband for my daughter to wear. I love how fun and bright it is. I used White thin flannel to make this. I first painted it with Peach Bellini Glimmer Glam, them spayed the material with Marmalade Glimmer Mist. This stiffened the material nicely. I added touches of Orange Crush Glimmer Glaze to it as well.
I also colored the velvet headband with The Marmalade Glimmer Mist as well.
For my last project I used the white flannel again and made an apron out of it. The layers are sprayed and blended with the following colors. Pomegranate, Fully Purple, Wild Currant, June Berry Wine, and Raven. The bow was made out of lavender cotton material and sprayed with Pomegranate Glimmer Mist.
Hope we have been inspiring you to pull out that boring, bland fabric and make something new with it. Have a wonderful week.
