Deck the Halls Handmade Holiday Card

We thought it would be fun to countdown to Christmas with 30 Christmas Card Ideas from the Crew.  No two are alike and each one shows off a fun and different way to create a card for Christmas or use the layout to create a card for any season, birthday or just because.

Crew Member Beth Bryd kicks off the countdown with this clean and simple card.  Beth is an avid card maker and her cards have great style and composition.  Making simple cards is important when you are planning to make a dozen or two or maybe more to send to friends and family.  If you are thinking about making your cards this year, there is still time and Beth’s card will show you how beautiful simple can be and those who get one of your cards will be oh so impressed.

Deck The Halls Christmas Card – Canvas Corp Christmas

Materials Used:

Canvas Corp – Black and Ivory Plaid Paper
Canvas Corp – Farmhouse Christmas Red and Black Diamonds on Kraft Paper
Canvas Corp – Farmhouse Christmas Tags
Canvas Corp – Twine
Gold Snowflake brads
Black Ink
Tools Used:  Paper cutter; Scissors; Hole punch
The base of this Christmas greeting is an ivory card which I layered with a panel of the Canvas Corp Black and Ivory Plaid paper. I then adhered a strip of the Farmhouse Christmas Red and Black Diamonds on Kraft paper to the plaid panel, placing it a bit off center. I wrapped a piece of twine around the black and red diamond strip and then added three gold snowflake brads. I then glued that panel to the ivory card. As a finishing touch, I cut out the Deck the Halls image from the Farmhouse Christmas Tags and distressed the edges in black ink. I adhered the tag to the bottom corner of the card.
