Hello Everyone! Since this months theme is using Screens, Stencils, Templates and Masks, I thought I’d share some ways that I’ve used background papers that I’ve created using some of those techniques. There are so many different things you can use to achieve beautiful patterns with your Tattered Angels Paints and Mists. If you really want to get creative you can even make your own Stencils from everyday things… even nature. For the project below I created background papers using Red Velvet, Trunk Bay, Sugar Maple and Harvest Orange Glimmer mist, and then die cut the flowers from them. ( AccuCut dies) I easily added them to my misted silk flowers for a decorative center. The gourd I used is real..but I cant believe how fantastic a coat of Twinkle Toes Glam makes it look!
After they were all assembled I brushed some Twinkle Toes Glam on the paper flowers also.
Using a plain white cotton bandana ( found at the craft store .. near the canvas bags and Tee shirts), I used artificial leaves to create this background.Colors used: Harvest Orange, Sugar Maple. and Sunflower Glimmer Mist.
I blanket stitched the edges, and added some Fancy Pants Felt peices .. and Wha La… I have a new liner for my basket. I’m ready to carry my goodies to Thanksgiving in style. yay
For now it can sit on the counter, and look pretty, all filled with gourds.
p.s. a little hint.. if you dont have just the right color embroidery floss, just pull your white or cream floss or string threw your leftover Mist on your Misting Mat. Ta da.. perfect match!
For the card below I created the background pattern with a stencil. Paints I used were Apple, Sugar Maple Glimmer Mist and Champagne Glaze.Image from Crafty Secrets. ( the buttons where originally unfinished wood..but ..again I color matched just by spraying them with the Mist colors I was using on the card).
The possibilities are endless with the backgrounds you can create! Take some time to play…you’ll like it 🙂
Thanks for coming by!
Vicki
