Today, we get to know Evelyn Walter.
Where do you reside?
I live in a village called Benediktbeuern. It´s in the south of Germany, in Bavaria, half an hour from München (Munich), well known all over the world for its Oktoberfest.
Describe your design style…
I think, my style is very versatile. It depends on my mood. But I love mixed media. I´m a little bit addicted to stencils; love many layers and love to try new techniques and mediums.
Who or what do you give credit to inspiring your creativity?
I’m inspired by many things. It can be in nature, while reading a book, seeing something in a magazine, and by looking at the artwork from so many talented people on their blogs and the social media.
What inspires you today?
Today? Today I´m inspired by the wonderful warm weather and my upcoming holidays – I´m in a summer mood!
What is your favorite Canvas Corp Brand Product? and why? Just one please!!!
Oh, what a hard question! There are so many gorgeous products which I love to use! But I have to make a choice – well, the winner is – Glimmer Mist. I love the wonderful shimmer and the rich colors. They are perfect to use on so many surfaces.
We asked Evelyn to choose her favorite project she has created using CCB Products.
Why is it your favorite project?
This canvas I made a while ago is my favorite. I used a photo of my grandmother´s wedding in 1916. I love the ccolors of the Glimmer Mists, they are matching perfectly to the photo.
Do you teach and if so tell us a bit about what you teach, where you go and some of your favorite places?
Well, my profession is teaching – and guess what I am teaching? I am a teacher for handicrafts and home economics! My pupils are from 6 years to 16 years old. I teach students from the first to the ninth grade, so it is very versatile. I love my job! But in my spare time, I only create for myself.

Having a whole day time for being creative!
In summer, I love to travel with my little caravan, preferable to Italy. I love the sea, beach and sun and the Italian way of life.
My favorite place to be creative…
When my son left home, I took over his room. It is small, but I love it very much! It is my little oasis and I won´t miss it anymore.
Tell us one cool detail about your studio or craft space…
I have many drawers and cupboards in my little room and I thought, they will be enough for all my things – but now I fear, I will have to throw out my bed to make more space *lol*.
Tell us one thing fun about you we might not know…
As I told you I am a teacher of handicraft. But my pupils shouldn´t know about my attempts at knitting. In the past, I would always start knitting pullovers with enthusiasm……… and always end up with pieces that never got ready. In the end I stopped knitting altogether… it’s safer that way…
Share with us anything about your creative life that you feel would inspire others…
I tried out many, many materials, techniques and styles in my crafty life before I found my current love for mixed media and vintage, steampunk style. Never stop trying out things and keep on being creative – it is good for your soul!
