Denim & Lace & Felt (Oh my!)

My first crafty love was textiles, so when I found out that our focus for March would be fabric, my biggest problem was narrowing down the choices!  So I decided to choose 3 types that would really contrast and show that you can use Tattered Angels products on widely diverse materials.

For my first project, I upcycled a pair of old jeans into a totebag.  I love the way the mists, and especially the Glimmer Glam look on denim.   The straps and back pocket were misted in Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard mist.  The bricks were masked in Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist.

I stamped with Glimmer Glam in Golden Goddess, Peach Bellini, Organic Garden and Chandelier.  I also painted Chandelier in various areas for a little more bling – it’s the perfect top coat on denim!

After the Glimmer Glam was dry, I added Glimmer Mist in gradations of Popsicle, Pink Bubblegum, Delphinium, Patina, Dragonfly, Lucky, Tiger Lily and Tuscan Sun.  Can you tell I love colour?  🙂

For my next project, I wanted to feature more luxurious textiles, so I made flowers from crinkle satin and bridal lace.  I also included a couple of Prima fabric flowers in chiffon and tulle.

The background was created with Glimmer Mist in Silver Bells, Patina, Graphite, Pashmina and Tattered Rose.

The handmade flowers were misted with Tattered Rose Glimmer Mist, and the Prima flowers were misted with Cotton Candy Chalkboard.  Both were defined with a little Pashmina Glimmer Mist, added by paintbrush.

I painted the lace with Glimmer Mist in Lemongrass and Sweet Clover.

The stamps I used on the page are from the Tattered Textures set.

For my third project, I went with something we’ve probably all got a lot of in our stashes – felt.  I know I have quite a stash from when it was so popular a couple years ago, and now I think I can give it a new life in my projects again – it’s so easy to customize with mists!

I made a re-usable coffee sleeve from white felt.  I coated the base with Decadence Chalkboard – I figure if I spill coffee, you won’t see it.  🙂

The decorative felt shapes were painted & misted with Tiger Lily & Sweet Clover Glimmer Mist, and Polka Dot Pink & Apricot Nectar Chalkboard.

Thanks for looking at my projects – I hope you’ll want to give fabric a try!
