Featured Crew Member: Lynne Forsythe

We are so excited everyday to work with an amazing group of designers, each one bringing something special to the group, sharing new techniques, new ways to use their craft supplies, showing us new approaches when working with our product lines, etc.  We start this new series for 2016 where we will be featuring our Crew letting you get to know a bit about each one, where they are from, what inspires them, their favorite products, their favorite Canvas Corp Brands project and more.

If you are not familiar with the Canvas Corp Crew it is a group of amazing designers from around the world the have come together to create, share ideas, support each other, let us know what we can do better and remind us of what we are doing well.  Our Crew is made up of about 100 designers who contribute projects to our blog, design with our products on their blogs, create models for our trade shows, packaging and other fun little projects.  We love to hear what they have to say, to be inspired by their work and to learn new things everyday.

lynne F.

We ask each member of the Crew to create a 4×4 Canvas that represents themselves and their personal style.  Lynne capture her love of color, flowers, words and style perfectly.

Lynne Forsythe kicks off our Featured Crew Member Series.  Lynne has been a part of the Canvas Corp Brands Crew before there was such a thing.  Lynne jumped on board with the Crew from day one and is still an active member.  Her mixed media work is simply beautiful and her use of color is impeccable.  We laugh with Lynne that she can pick scraps off the floor and create something beautiful.

Lynne resides in….I live a small town, Littleton, in beautiful Northern New Hampshire in the United States.

Lynne’s design style can best be described as… I would describe my design style as grunge meets texture and always ends up with a flower. I love to layer mediums and textiles and paper, current or vintage. My love for handmade or manufactured flowers helps me finish of my creations. I am also big on quotes, I like my pieces to “say something”

Lynne was inspired most to be creative by…. Tim Holtz was the person who inspired my creative journey in the paper crafting industry. I attended Ranger U and he opened my eyes to the world of “coloring” and I never looked back!!

My favorite place to be creative…. In my disaster of a creative space, where ever that may be!

Lynne’s favorite Canvas Corp Brands product (and yes we made them choose just one)…WOW….this is a REALLY hard question to answer because I LOVE ALL Canvas Corp Brands products but if I can only choose one it would have to be Natural Canvas!! It is the basis for SOOO MANY wonderful products that Canvas Corp makes, sheets, bags, aprons, canvas’ to name just a few. I love the Natural Canvas Sheets that I use to cut shapes, flowers and all types of things with!!

Lynne is inspired by…..I would have to say I am inspired by the products I work with. If I get an idea in my head, I have a hard time concentrating on anything else until I let the creation take flight! Once I begin, I totally get lost in the creative process. This is the reason I always forget to take step out photos and have to recreate the project to take them!

Lynne travels all over teaching, demoing and sharing her creativity in her classes, at local and international trade shows and on her blog.  To see more of Lynne’s work and to follow her on her creative journey stop by her blog The Next Best Thing by Lynne.  If you are in the New England area and would like to take one of Lynne’s classes you can find out more here…..

Per Lynne; “This heart typifies my creative style and is one of my all time favorite Canvas Corp Brand creations. I LOVE the color, texture, flowers I used and the GREAT quote. One of my favorite additions to my creation is the piece of chicken wire!”
