“Fly” Ledger ART Journal Spread

The Architextures Vintage books and ledgers are available in several different looks and sizes. They work as Art Journals, Photo albums, writing books and are great in combination with your favourite Tattered Angels Mists or any of your other favorite craft products.

Today, Crew Member Marie Johansson shows us how she made an Art Journal spread in her Ledger Spiral book.

Marie tells us – “I have been looking for a perfect small book or journal for my Art Journaling, and when I saw the preview of the Architextures collection, I just knew I found the perfect one among the books and journals there. The vintage-feel pages are perfect as they can be kept as they are or covered with clear gesso to preserve the print, or covered with white gesso for a more distressed effect. I´m sure my little Ledger journal will be one of my best craft companions throughout this year. Let me show you how I made one of the first spreads.”

Step 1
To ensure that your ledger journal pages don´t tear or absorbe too much paint, cover them with a coat of white gesso. After drying, apply pieces of the Architextures Chicken Wire.

Step 2
Start adding the Mists. Blend the different formulas by adding them with a brush, spray, blend with water etc. Dry in between layers and work until you feel happy with the result.

Step 3
Create more texture and dimension by adding random patterns with a brush dipped in Glimmer Glam. Dry. Cut out pieces from the Parchment Rub-On and apply on the pages. Finish off with splatters of mist blended with water to add a grungy feel.
