Love food? We do! Where are your favorite recipes? Pinned on a Pinterst board, saved on your computer, printed out and in a drawer or handwritten on recipe cards? Why not put them in a handmade recipe book where you can flip right to them, make little notes and share with others? This simple vintage inspired recipe book is so easy to make, the pages can be moved around and you can add more favorites anytime.
The 7gypsies Epicurean Collection is a fun vintage look at your favorite foods through the origin of the recipe – from French and Italian to Mexican and Oriental food and lots in between. When someone says what are you hungry for, the answer is generally noted this way. “I feel like Chinese food tonight” then the answer gets more serious on the details of the meal. This collection pays homage to our favorite foods and is a great for creating your recipe book.

You can organize your book, your way. By course, by flavor or by favorites, you can use the tabs provided or change them around and write or stamp your own. These tabs were made by cutting up the Epicurean Tag Inserts and distressing them.
Create a page for each of the categories by picking your favorite papers, ephemera and metals.
The metals are a fun way to highlight small details, like using the gears as mini metal frames.
The Epicurean Mini Ephemera pack is filled with a range of vintage food ads that are perfect touches for any recipe project from coffee and champaign to milk and deep dish pizza. We love all kinds of food and wanted our ephemera pack to have a bit of everything.
Create pockets for each page to hold the recipes, notes and even menu from your favorite local restaurant. To create the pockets use file folders, envelopes or make your own with the patterned paper.
These great mini manila cards are perfect for adding to your book and have a fun, vintage recipe feel. Each pack comes with 8 different cards 2 of each and are blank on the other side so you can stamp or add your own designs as well. The Epicurean Tag Insert Pack includes a mini recipe card, list of food categories, weights and measurements, a menu card and other blank cards where you can add special cooking notes, jot down a menu or create fun vintage place cards for the table.
You can make larger pockets and smaller ones to hold little notes and handwritten recipes. The 7gypsies vintage clips are perfect for holding goodies in place.
Stamp directly onto the Epicurean file folder your choice of stamps from the stamp or the stamp sets. The Naked Epicurean cards are a great added touch with the vintage feel of the manila paper.
These 4×6 Epicurean File Folders are perfect for storing and organizing your recipe cards and printed out recipes. These food themed file folders have a great vintage feel with just the right touch of color and are two sided so they can be flipped either way to give you 6 different folder options. You can jot a note on the tabs to keep yourself organized and drop them into a 7gypsies Crates, a recipe box or add them to a handmade recipe book like this one.
To put the book together you can use a range of different machines that will punch the holes, like your heavy duty Binderie Punch that will go through thick book board, chipboard, plastic, leather and many other materials in a snap.
So as the fall us upon us and you start to pin your favorite recipes or start going through the family recipes for the fall holidays, why not make copies of each recipe and make a book for everyone in the family. They are easy, beautiful and they will be cherished. Don’t forget to save the recipes!!!!
Happy Creating!!!
