We would like to introduce you to our Friend Creative Embellishments and our Crew Member Cathy Frailey.
I think she had her “Gypsy” on when she created her 3-D tag.
Creative Embellishments is a family-owned on-line business selling wood veneer & chipboard shapes, flairs, stencils, & stamps. They started as a husband and wife team (both are artists) & their hobby grew into the successful business they have today. There are many different styles of wood & chipboard items (which I’m focusing on), including flourishes, alphabet, shapes, seasons, steampunk and much, much more. The quality is top-notch and you’ll find that you’ll keep going back to keep your favorites stocked in your stash! And they take Tattered Angels paints & sprays beautifully! Because of the wide selection of styles to choose from, you can find anything to match the CCB products you’re creating with!
See how Cathy put her tag together
Step 1
I cut out the sitting gypsy from the Architextures paper that fit PERFECTLY on the smaller of the chair embellishments (you get one large and one small). I decided to give her outfit some color with my glazes!
Step 2
I colored my chair with a mix of the Tattered Angels Glazes & Paints, giving it a colorful yet worn look. Love the little carvings on the rocker!
Step 3
I then painted one of my arrows with Tattered Angels ~ Desert Sun and then Iron to give it a grungy look. The other one I sprayed with Pearl and outlined with Iron.
Step 4
I decided to use the porch scene from the 7gypsies Go & See paper for my tag background (I used the tape runner to adhere it) – it fit perfectly on my tag & showed a great majority of the scene. I covered the door slats with pieces of mesh which I secured by threading wire through the front & then twisting on the backside to secure – gives it a rickety appearance!
Step 5
I used mounting foam to sit my gypsy on the chair for a 3D affect. What’s great about the scene I chose is that my Creative Embellishments chair perfectly covers the one in the pic!
Step 6
After that, put it all together using hot glue and mounting foam! 7gypsies ~ The American Vintage pad (and all the pads for that matter) have a smaller printing of the pad contents on card stock which makes for great embellishments! I cut out some of the street signs & a postcard and used the American Vintage title – you can use everything on CCB packaging!
Cathy’s Closing thoughts
Creative Embellishments chipboard is a great match for Tattered Angels and 7gypsies products. The chipboard has great details that really help your project tell a story!
