Making cards for Halloween does not have the same tradition or history as Christmas cards, but why don’t we make it one? They are fun to make, they bring a smile to someone’s face and you can send them out before the busy holiday season. Whether you make one for a good friend or a dozen to mail out we hope these ideas from our Crew inspire you to make a card this Halloween season.
The Canvas Corp Brands Halloween Collection offers a range of papers in a variety of coordinating papers that look great on their own and terrific when used together. The Haunt It Tags (bottom right corner) are a great start, fun Halloween Sayings that you can design your cards around, choosing the message that speaks to you. They also make great tags. All the Canvas Corp papers are made from 80# cardstock so they are a great weight to make cards, die cut tags or even mini books. They papers are printed only on one side making them ideal for card making.
We asked our crew to share with us some simple Halloween Cards they designed to inspire you.
Kim Rippere – ‘Some Wicked Kitty Whiskers Card’
Canvas Corp papers look great when distressed, misted and inked to take on a vintage look. Touches of orange and blank inks look terrific when added to 7gypsies Mini Ephemera, burlap, fluted paper and the printed cardstock. Adding non-Halloween papers such as the Ivory and Black Damask is a great touch. Along with a wide range of seasonal prints, Canvas Corp offers a full collection of basics that can be mixed and matched with any of their collections letting you design and create you way.
Valerie Andrieux – ‘I See A Party In Your Future Card’
Valerie created this fun layered card that is the perfect party invitation!!! The touch of lace and rick rack are perfect. Rounding the corners with your favorite corner punch or cutter finishes this card off just right. All papers form the Haunt It Collection in Kraft.
Kim Rippere – ‘Magic in the Night Card’
Kim mixes it up with a little 7gypsies, some Canvas Corp Black and Ivory and the new Canvas Corp Collection. We love the eclectic design with the touch of lace – anything goes!!! Making Cards from File Folders is a fun alternative – this file folder measures 4×6 so it will fit right into a Greeting Card Envelope A7. Wicked Gypsy Mini Ephemera, Orange & Ivory Tile Paper, Black & Ivory 6×6 Paper Pad and the Haunt It Tags Paper.
Kimberly – ‘Hocus Pocus Card Trio of Cards’
Kimberly distressed the Haunt It Collection on White giving it a cool vibe in this trio of Halloween cards. Love the blend of kraft with the white, orange and black of the Haunt It papers.
Porechnaya Viktoriya – ‘Haunt It Trio of Cards’
Viktoriya created these bright and cheerful Halloween cards that remind you of the colorful Halloween costumes that wander the streets on Halloween night. The Kraft paper is a great companion with any color combination that screams handmade.
Erin Reed – ‘Elegant Halloween – Boo Card’
Erin created this elegant Halloween Card with her CuttleBug Machine and Ivy Die. It is fun to run holiday papers through everyday dies to create beautiful dies that add an amazing touch to your projects. So no worries if your die library is not filled with Halloween dies, just grab one you like, slip the Halloween paper through and create pretty things.
We hope you are inspired to create Halloween cards this season to share with friends and family. They are fun, simple and you can share a great message. You can keep them pretty and simple so you can make as many as you need!!!!
