Getting a little Tattered Angels Splatty

Have you been getting your mist on lately?? LOL I have been, and loving it.

Today I would like to share with you 3 layouts, a couple of which I have been experimenting with a couple of new techniques for me, using gesso and the fabulous mists and chalkboards.

For this first layout I have created a very very ‘splay’ background using a combination of gesso, and Chalkboard glimmer mists; Fairway, Inchworm, Firefly and Seven Seas.

The wonderful Amy Tangerine American Crafts thickers look fabulous with the application of chalkboard glimmer mists!

Doesn’t this calico die cut butterfly [made for me by some fabulous creative friends A Lil Somethin’], look wonderful with the 2 tone Chalkboard glimmer mists!

For this particular layout background I have masked off a stamped butterfly image and scrapped some white gesso on and around it.

From this close-up you can see that I have coloured in the stamped butterfly images, and then added lots and lots of extra splats, using gesso, and Chalkboard glimmer mists; Valencia, and Seven Seas. To apply my splats I have just used a small soft bristle paint brush and tapped it randomly over and around the stamped images.

For this final layout I have used one of my all time favourite background treatments with tissue paper. I have peeled it back to reveal a chipboard feather embellishment; on which I have layered my photo and title alpha.

I have used the fabulous Fairway and Valencia Chalkboard glimmer mists on and around the tissue paper to highlight and draw the viewers eye to the photo. I have colour coordinated the photo and title alpha by giving both a colour wash with Valencia chalkboard glimmer mist.

Well that is it from me for this month 🙂 I do hope you have been enjoying all the wonderful Tattered Angels Inspiration from the amazing team!!

Cheers and Happy Creating

Louise
