Good for the Creative Soul Challenge - "Compose Your Life Collection"

As you probably know by now – We love to do challenge our Creative Crew and do fun things that keep us creating. In 2018 we wanted to push our dear Creative Crew into new creative adventures. We want them to push their limits, try new things and evolve their creativity. We decided to create a serie of out of the box challenges that we call “Good for the Creative Soul”. For 2019 we have taken this challenge one step futher. We give our Crew one of our paper collections to play with each month – in January they have been playing with “Compose Your Life“.

The collection is not only gorgeous, but it is filled with inspiration, beauty and positive thoughts. With each piece you create using the collection it is a true reminder to compose your life your way and live beautifully.

WHAT MAKES THE COLLECTION DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PAPER COLLECTIONS?

The art is stunning and a one of a kind, hand painted by Aga herself and the collection was curated by Canvas Corp owner Christine Meier and Aga to create the perfect ensemble.
The collection was designed to be used for any style of paper crafting, not a focus on just a few and we love that.
The collection is printed on a variety of different papers, but the 12×12 papers are printed on a wonderful water-media paper that is amazing printed and painted.
The collection features both vibrant, full color papers and black and white papers, so those who want to paint or mixed media the white papers you can make you own to coordinate with the collection.
There is an 8×8 companion paper pack that features many of the prints in 8×8 printed on cardstock, thinstock and a selection of shabby chic handmade papers, so there is a paperweight and size for just about everyone.
The 12×12 paper is not only textured but it is extra heady duty, making it ideal for fussy cutting, making cards, journal covers or layouts.

Marie Heiderscheit

Handmade card created using Compose Your Life Papers from the 8×8 paper pack. The floral paper is torn on the sides, and layered over some of the textured paper from the pack. The textured paper in the backgroud was stamped on, and some texture added by splattering some watercolor. The sentiment is die cut from black cardstock, and to finish it off some sequins were added for some extra shine.

I’ve had this canvas for ages, it was the last of a pack, was damaged and very dirty, but the perfect size for using 8″ square papers on, as I knew it would only take two full sheets to cover it. I tore patterned and embossed papers to create a textured “Franken Background” leaving some of the edges loose, so they could be rolled. This creates lots of places for the Glimmer Mist to find and settle in, so you get flashes of gorgeous shimmer when the light hits. I used two shades, Sterling for shadows and splatters and the gorgeous new Golden Lime to give the wooden texture of the paper, a moss like finish. I sat and cut out a whole sheet of the red flowers at the end of last year, so they were ready to be added to the canvas, along with cotton thread, black sequins and one of the sentiments from the 8″ Compose Your Life paper pack. I now want to re-create a version of this on a larger canvas to go on the wall in my dining room. It’s a New Year and time for a re-vamp!!

Sometimes all you need to make a lovely and easy project is a great paper collection, good nesting dies set and perfect pair of scissors.This mini album cover is a great example of such a project. Using only Compose you life 8*8” paper pack and book shaped set of dies with a lot of fussy cutting of paper and cardstock flowers from this collection this old, almost 10 years old ) mini album with pink pages was done in less than an hour.
It’s lovely and fancy and fits any girly photos.

When i so this challenge i got the idea to combine paper and fabric. I think the result is delightful or what do you think.
i sew a table runner of canvas fabric. I cut out the paper flowers and sew them in a small piece of fabric.To get a bit more texture so I cut some fabric strips and colored them with glimmer mist. Here i also have a black burlap table runner and by changing colors, you get a completely different type of table setting.

Be what you are – original, strong, brave, sensitive and amazing. This is the first step toward becoming better than you are. Each of the element that I’ve used represents one of these characters. For example, the base is layered using crackle medium that represents our life, not smooth at all times but a few rough patches that we’d tumble upon. It reminds us to just take a step back because then you won’t see just the cracks, rather a beautifully textured layout. The chipboard tells us that positivity and negativity in life are interlocked, like a grid and it reminds us to be brave enough to face each of them. The threads that are layered underneath the flowers, teach us to be original. The art stones teach us to be strong as rocks and finally the flowers remind us to be amazing while following these.

I am absolutely in love with the gorgeous paper range “Compose your life”, designed by Aga! Not only the wonderful and versatile desings of the papers is a real pleasure, but the papers itself are so very high quality papers. They are really heavy and sturdy and I really love to touch them, they feel so good!
I used one of the 12 x 12 papers, called Let Creativity Grow Wild and some papers from the 8 x 8 paper pack. In this paper pack you find not only the design papers, but also some handmade shabby chic papers! They are really special and you can find two of them used on my layout.

I absolutely love scrapbooking in a travellers journal, and I knew right away I wanted to create a layout in the beautiful Compose Your Life Journal using my two youngest girls recent school photos. This was the perfect way to document some fun facts about them right now and create a pretty page using this gorgeous collection!

A simple 6×6 card base, using stencil and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist colors as well as Plain Jane Baseboard Mist, to add interest as a background. I chose the Aga Baraniak Compose Your Life Red Flower Pieces paper as the focal point for color, adding with double sided foam squares to add dimension. I then used a greeting from the Aga Baraniak Compose Your Life Be Amazing paper for the greeting. To finish added a remnant piece of lace, sheer ribbon, and dew drops that coordinated with the colors of the flowers.

love making ATCs, especially using cardboard or some other chunky substrate! And this collection is fab for ATCs! Aside from the patterned paper designed by Aga, there’s the specialty papers that are included with rich patterns and textures. They hold the inks and sprays beautifully, letting the mica’s hide in the crevices! Doesn’t take much to make something stunning!
