From time to time we like to invite one of our followers to be a Guest Designer for a month and our Challenge prize is to be our Guest Designer for a month. Martina was our winner and today we want to introduce you to this great source of inspiration. Please join us in welcoming Martina Stoycheva to the Canvas Corp Brands blog.
Where are you from?
I`m from Bulgaria and I live in a town named Burgas on Black Sea coast.
How would you describe your design style?
I think that my style is light and a bit shabby. I don`t create dark projects often. Still I`m a messy girl who loves mixed media from the bottom of her heart.
How long have you been creating?
I`m creating since 2015. But I`m in mixed media world since end of 2016. That`s when I started my personal blog.
What is your go to product right now?
My go to product is gesso and some paste. I`m not doing anything without them.
Do you have a signature touch you like to include in all your pieces?
I would say splaters are my signature touch, but if I think again it`s not on all my Projects.
What advice would you give to someone who gets in a creative slump?
Get out and have some fun. Have a walk. Enjoy your life and stop thinking about projects. When I`m in that place I`m getting away from my scrap place and it always helps. It revives me. It dosen`t matter that we love what we do, it could be overwhelming sometimes.
What is the oddest inspiration you have used for one of your projects?
I don`t remember any odd inspiration. Most of the time I`m inspired by other crafters or just something clicks in my mind.
Tell us one thing that people might not know about you.
That I was a passionate smoker until 2011. Then I start training Tae bo and quit smoking. I haven`t touched cigarette since 3rd april 2011 and I`m absolutly happy and proud of myself.
How often do you create?
I create when I`m inspired. It can be every day or just once a week. If a lot of ideas are fighting in my head it`s time to get them out of there.
Do you jot down your ideas before you do them or do you create as you go?
No. I don`t jot down. Just creating when I have time.
