Halloween Cat Mixed Media Canvas

It is time to get the Halloween decorations out and get ready for the trick-or-treaters, party guests or friends stopping by.  If you are in the mood to create a little something special for your spooky friends this year, why not try a Halloween Canvas? If you are into mixed media, would love to try mixed media or just love to craft, this is the perfect project for you. Created by crew member, Kimberly, this fun canvas will be right at home on a mantel, table, or wall to welcome your guests.
Steampunk October Mixed Media Canvas
A fun canvas like this is the perfect place to show off your favorite Halloween papers, die cuts, stickers, stamps, tags, ephemera, embellishments and even skeleton hands.  Gather up all you have and see what what works.  If the colors are not right, no worries…just paint them to match.  Oh how we love mixed media – no rules, do it your way and have fun.

Here is a view of side 2 with a lot more paint and fun goodies.  We love the black trim that looks extra spooky. You can make your art to match your decor so if you are all about pumpkins go orange. If witches are your thing then maybe try purple and black lace. If you are more the Fall kinda decorator, your favorite Fall colors are the perfect choice.

I’m here today to share with you how easy and beautiful Tattered Angels Mixed Media Origins and Canvas Corp Halloween papers work for this Halloween canvas.  The Mixed Media Origins papers come in a wide range of designs including this one with the cat – Steampunk October.  The papers are black and white art with lots of great details and you can color the paper with any medium including watercolor, markers, paints, acrylics, etc.  The paper is great with water media and won’t buckle under the pressure and it dries flat.

I remember a while back it was the rage to have Copic Markers. Well let me tell you I was so disappointed to find out I couldn’t color very well or I thought I was not a good adult colorer, but come to find out I just had to find the right thing to color!!!!   The new line of Tattered Angels Mixed Media Origins came out and I found the perfect media to color and it loves my Copic Markers and other wet media I have tried.
The papers are perfect for fun, simple relaxing paper coloring and I must say I love to color my papers with the Tattered Angels mists and paints too.  Sometimes I have to craft on the go, sitting in the waiting room, visiting family or just on the go and I can just pull together my Mixed Media Origins papers and markers and I am ready to craft. There is so much less stress than sitting in a boring doctors office doing nothing. Time seems to fly instead of looking at the clock every few seconds and feeling like you have been there for a long long time.
