Capturing special recipes passed down from generation to generation is a great way to preserve the past and pass it along to the future. Crew member Tatiana shows us a wonderful way to make an easy recipe book in a lovely combination of reds, blacks and canvas that is just stunning. The Canvas Corp Holiday Baking Collection just happens to have these exact colors and fits right in with the style of this beautiful book.
I made this baking book using the Mix & Match Pad – Holiday Baking, and added just a couple of sheets Journal Lines on Kraft, they are amazing for such books.
If you are not familiar with the Canvas Corp Mix and Match Pads they are awesome. They include 16 different sheets of printed paper, printed fabric, burlap, kraft and fluted paper and they all coordinate. The packaging is simple, just a stitch across the top to hold it all together and you can see all that you are getting. The most unique item in the pack is the 12×12 printed canvas sheet. The art is screen printed onto the canvas, giving it a hand stamped look yet the art is permanent so it will not run or change when you you paint on it, get it wet, or even wash it. It is cotton so it might shrink a bit, but the art will stay right where it is.
This amazing pad is on special now through Christmas for $8.99, regularly $14.99. It is a great one to try to see what you think. Even at $14.99 the value is just terrific for all you get in the pad.
The construction looks hard and tough, but the book is easier to make than it looks. Two clear plastic sheets cover all the inside stuff, the inside pages are bound with the Zutter Binding Tool and the cover is just banded cardboard pieces with soft layers of the fabric.

The front cover features a layers of fabric, paper, paper bags, lace, embellishments and trims.
Inside the cover there is a pocket and an elastic cord is added that is very helpful to close and hold this thick book together.
Favorite recipes can be written or glued in on the patterned paper.
I separate all book for different baking recipes such as cakes, cupcakes and muffins, baking with chocolate, Butter cakes, and holiday baking.
So this book could be used not only for holiday recipes, but also during all year.
Create a blank book that can be filled with recipes along the way or fill it up as you go with recipes that are close to your heart. Add envelopes and little bags to hold copies of recipes, little notes or a favorite memory.
