Vacation season has begun. Spring break is almost done and summer travel will start soon. Exploring places we have never been to and visiting ones we love. Exploring with our families makes traveling even more memorable. CCB Crew Member Jean of Pages in Time has created a wonderful travel journal for that special adventure.
Travel journals are perfect to recreate your memories, save mementos and cherish as a keepsake. In prep for her family vacation to Italy, Jean decided to make a journal so it will be ready to fill with photos, quotes and ephemera from her trip….Let’s see how she made hers….
We are taking a family vacation this spring to Italy! My husband, children and their spouses have never been to Europe! I know I will be wanting to scrapbook everything once home, so this is a convenient way to take notes as we go! I also included pockets to store all those stubs, tickets, etc., that I tend to save.
Materials Used
- 7 Gypsies Wanderlust Paper Pad
- Canvas Corp Tissuestock – French Script
- Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze Paradise Pink
- Tattered Angels High Impact Paint Wheat
- My Favorite Things Pitment Ink Pad Licorice Black
- Cardboard
- Cardstock
- Teresa Collins Washi Tape
- Black buttons
- Tombow Permanent Adhesive
- Mod Podge
- Tools Used: Paper cutter, Foam brush, Scallop circle punch-EK Success
Step 1: Trim one side of a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock to 8 inches. Score every 4 inches and create 3 panels/pages.
Step 3: Decorate the pages using 7gypsies Wanderlust. Secure edges and the middle seam with Washi Tape.
Step 4: Design and print journaling pages. Secure to each page alternating with the envelopes.
Step 5: Decorate the cover using Tissue stock and Mod Podge. Add embellishments such as buttons, flowers and pattern papers. Place ribbon between cardboard and the first page and glue.
Take pages with you to journal on or wait until you get home. Don’t forget to take photos of each special place to remember. You can also grab a few Gypsy Moments Cards and Travel File Folders that help you document your travels and fit snug into a book or a bag.
