Faces are all the rage these days, so how about a bunny face with flowers, so much fun. Alina will show you how to create your own sketched rabbit and the rest takes shape. Learn how to sketch, paint and embellish this paint your own bunny art that will have you ready for your Easter Decor, an easter gift or a perfect art piece for the bunny lover.
7gypsies Artboards are thick pressed boards covered with a slightly textured white paper to create the perfect mixed media surface. What better base for a wet media project?! Alina Bartan is here today to share with us her beautiful project for the Easter season – an altered Architextures Artboard featuring our old friend, Mr Easter Bunny.
I wanted to make an easy and fun Easter decor that can be used in your kid’s room or as a great baby shower gift.
Alina used for her Easter project:
Architextures Artboard
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Black Magic, Be Mine, Pearl, Olive Vine, Turquoise Blue, Dijon
Various flowers and Lace
Leaf Chipboard
Pentart cracking paste and small 3D balls
Dina Winkley gesso
Brush, spatula, pencil
On a canvas of desired size lightly sketch the bunny in pencil.
I used Architextures Artboard because it’s perfect for any mixed media fun.
Cover the base with one light coat of gesso to ensure it is prepared for the other mediums that will follow.
After the gesso is dry, you should still see the sketched bunny.
Add the cracking paste here and there on the base, where you want some texture.
I’ve added it around the canvas margins and on the bunny’s cheeks.
Adding the cracking paste to the cheeks gives the bunny a more dimensional look and fluffiness.
Let the cracking paste dry completely.
Now, look through your Glimmer Mists and choose the colors for the bunny and background.
The Glimmer Mists that I used are listed in the products above.
Use a brush and dip it directly in the Glimmer Mist.
To soften the color use some water. For the shades don’t dilute the mist.
From the flowers, chipboard and lace that you have around arrange a crown on the bunny’s head.
If you wish, you can color the chipboard. Adhere them with gel medium or strong adhesive.
For a complete look, I have also added some 3d small balls to look like flowers.
I’ve added them with gel medium amd after they were dry I have painted them.
It’s an easy way of creating a cute project which can be used as a seasonal decoration or a last minute handmade gift.
I hope you like the idea.
Have a great day!
