Krafty Garden Gifts

Looking for great little ideas to make with the kids for teacher gifts, cute outdoor party centerpieces or a gift for Mother’s Day, these great spring projects Shelley created will inspire you to create the sweetest gifts this spring gift giving season.

Happy Spring! Shelley here to share with you a few ideas for some garden type gifts to give or make for yourself using some Canvas Corp Brands products. I used some items I had on hand that I thought would make great pieces for display or as gifts. Here we go!

The things I had on hand were some kraft paper ice cream bowls, a paper mache pot, a kraft paper bag, and the kraft take-out box. The first project I simply took some of the Canvas Corp Cording and wound it around the cup. Then I filled the cup with 7Gypsies Tissue Paper. The #3 is from Canvas Corp Black and Kraft Number paper (CCP2872) and it’s being held with a Canvas Corp Black Clothes pin! I just added a succulent to the project for this gift but you could fill it with almost anything (candy, treats, etc)!  Add numbers to make perfect table numbers, announce an anniversary or a favorite number.

The next project is simple. I just turned one of my kraft cups upside down, added a piece of a vintage tape measure and topped it with the roll of 225′ Jute Ball from Canvas Corp to make a DIY pin cushion! Even the embellishments can make a sweet gift or vignette! I just added a couple of cute pins to finish it. You could pin photos or any other kind of embellishment to this as well.

The last one of this set is a kraft take-out box. I cut the #10 from the Canvas Corp Black and Kraft Number sheet (CCP2872) and glued it to the front of the box. I again took a Canvas Corp Black Clothespin and hung it from the edge of the box. I placed a vintage seed packet in the clothespin for some fun! A square piece of Canvas Corp Burlap was placed inside the box and another succulent was added.  Another idea for a centerpiece, party table number or even group number at a fund raising event.

Another set of gifts I created were made using a paper mache pot, a kraft paper bag, and another kraft bowl.

The first project I cut a piece of Canvas Corp green Burlap. I filled the paper mache pot with Fiber-fill and then added my cut piece of burlap to make a pin cushion of sorts. I then took some pins and hot glued those to the back of three old pop lids. I then cut a piece of cork paper and filled the inside of the lids. Next I cut triangle pieces of burlap and created the “petals” of my three flowers. Once all was dry I just placed them in the pin cushion for display!

The kraft bowl was made by adding a piece of Canvas Corp Burlap Fringe to the outside of the bowl. Inside the bowl I placed a piece of floral foam. Next I placed a Canvas Corp Black Clothespin upside down in the foam so the open part is facing up. Now I added my vintage seed packet, some shredded kraft paper, and a vintage milkcap to complete this project.

The final project I made by cutting a small kraft bag about in half. I then covered two sides with kraft moss. Then using Canvas Corp Green and Ivory Ribbon Stripe paper I made a handle for the bag. Inside the bag I placed two nests. Again, you could fill this with just about anything as a gift. Using Canvas Corp Cording and Green Burlap I created a little banner by adding some left over triangle shapes and gluing them directly onto the cording.

Canvas Corp Cardstock paper is a great weight and perfect for making handles on creative bags and boxes and adding a simple creative touch.
