Canvas Corp 12×12 screen printed cardboard line is one of the hand-screen printed gems we have in store for you. Each of the sheets is manually placed into the screen printing machine, the screen is lowered onto it and black printing ink is manually distributed all over it to make sure that it goes through the screen evenly.
As much as were aiming for perfection, imperfections are what makes this cardboard sheets so unique!
With 12 designs on cardboard and even more on canvas, allow us to awaken your creativity!
Today, our Creative Crew member – Christine Santos – shares with us her project in which she used the Water Circles cardboard as a background for the colourful and full of layers scrapbooking layout (it even doubles up as a piece of home decor!).
‘I’m very excited to share with you a mixed media wall art featuring Canvas Corp’s gorgeous new array of Printed Cardboard. I’ve added lashings of mixed media and 7gypsies Architextures to bring the photo to life.’ – says Christine about her project.
Materials used:
Canvas Corp:
Water Circles Printed Cardboard
Triangle Burlap Shape
Dark Blue Burlap Fringe
Canvas Garland
Kraft Ticking Canvas Fringe
Black Hank Hemp Rope
Cream Hank Braided Rope
Natural Hank Rope
Natural Twisted Hemp Rope
Architextures:
Tarnished Silver Mirror Treasures
Buttons Findings
Vintage Bunting Paper
Build Parchment Rub-Ons
Enjoy Stash Paque
7gypsies Assorted Lace Trimmings
Tattered Angels:
Chalkboard Mists: Admiral, Alaskan Salmon
Glimmer Mists: Pearl, Red Tipped Rose, Abominable Snowman, Kiwi, Vanilla Breeze, Sun Sisters, Crushed Shells
First, mist some areas of the Printed Cardboard with water and then tear off the wet areas. I learned this tip from our fellow creative crew member, Lynne Forsythe. Then, apply some texture paste with a bubbles stencil to go with the circles on the background.
Mist and layer different colors of Tattered Angels mists, drying each layer of color.
Cut out the banners from the Architextures Vintage Bunting Paper. Layer this behind the photo along with the Triangle Burlap Shape.
Build the cluster under and around the photo with layers of Canvas Corp ropes and fabric, as well as Architextures Treasures and Findings. For the final touches, add the alpha stickers from the Architextures Enjoy Stash Paque, a thin trim of 7gypsies Lace and Rub-Ons at the bottom of the page, and a strip of Canvas Corp Rope through a couple of punhced holes at the top.
