Lovely Feminine Boho Journal

Hello creatives! Michelle here to share a new project I have created using fabulous products from Canvas Corp Brands including 7gypsies, Tattered Angels and Canvas Corp. I have a new obsession I must admit. I love creating journals. Art journals, thought journals, photo journals…..the possibilities are endless! And with products from Canvas Corp Brands, anything is possible! Here is my feminine boho journal.

My base for this project was the Architextures Blank Journal. The cover is made of a heavy weight craft stock, and the inside is a beautiful aged looking design, which was perfect for this project.I covered the craft stock cover using a printed canvas banner, Paris themed, both front and back. Followed by using the Canvas Corp Canvas Fringe as a mock side binding to the cover.

For the center-piece of the cover, I used the largest 7gypsies Frame, to hold the image I cut from the 7gypsies Wanderlust: Be Free Paper, a beautiful print of a lady, followed by a light layer of Tattered Angels Clear Glimmer Glam. To further add interest and texture to the cover, I added flowers, pearls and sequins from my personal stash, as well as some lace trim to both sides of the front cover, in shades of ivory, aubergine and a gilded rose gold.

For the inside of the front and back covers, I cut 6×6 squares from the Architextures Floral Guide paper and glued into place.
I also wanted to keep the pages of the journal a little low key on decor, to leave room on and plenty of pages for sketching, or recording thoughts. The perfect item to use, was the Architextures Parchment Rub On. I selected random pages and images to add through out the pages, lending to the idea to inspire and show the grace and beauty of a lady.
To finish the inside, I used a strip a fringe from my personal stash, on the bottom of the back of the cover.

Now for the embellishments.
A little hobby of mine, is creating clay embellishments. I have these beautiful, flat backed rose embellishments, in two different sizes, and chose to use four, to create paper clip embellishments to coordinate with the journal.
For the paper clips, I colored the rose using my new FAVORITE Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Spray Merlot Gold, adding it by brush and dripping from the sprayer.
I also used this to color a clay feather for the front of the journal, along with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in English Ivy and Walnut Gold. Once again, I brushed TA Glimmer Glam Clear to seal all of the clay embellishments.

I decided I wanted to carry on the printed canvas theme, so using the Canvas Corp Canvas Fringe, I stamped similar miniature images to the printed canvas cover and cut small circles to use on the back of each rose paper clip.
These will easily mark places through the journal.

A gem of a journal, a lightweight book to carry anywhere.
A journal to record thoughts, ideas, or to simply sketch in.
