Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Marie’s cards have the perfect Autumn vibe, but are perfect anytime of the year for that man in your lift. We thought while your Fall paints, papers and embellishments were out you might want to try your hand at a few masculine cards to give in 2016. The combination of the 7gypsies vintage feel and Canvas Corp classic look come together and look amazing. So often paper collections are not designed with men in mind and Marie shares two very different cards that are both perfectly masculine. 
Making handmade cards for a man can be a challenge. Romantic and frilly is not what comes to mind when you first think of Father’s Day, your husbands birthday or a graduation card for your son or nephew. The old world maps, kraft backgrounds and vintage papers are the perfect base for your cards and accented with with flowers and metal, hats, gears, wood and leather embellishments is perfect.
This card was made by using patterned paper a from 7 Gypsies “American Vintage” Collection. This collection takes you on a journey from the past across the USA with old maps, postcards, Polaroids, cameras, suitcases, etc. The art is filled with soft, muted colors that instantly give a masculine feel. Layers of postcards, feathers, cowboy hats, vintage flowers and gears finish this card off perfectly. If the flowers bother you, leave them off, there is plenty to embellish your card, you can even consider adding old men’s rings, cuff links and other men’s jewelry from the past.
The next card was created with papers from the Canvas Corp Haunt It Collection. This Halloween favorite line looks amazing when paired with browns, oranges and neutral embellishments. Canvas Corp basic papers can be used to create you own themes and style.
The cool hats from Haunt it “Halloween Masks,” the vintage baseball player costume from the “Halloween Costume” paper and the feathers from “Chocolate and Ivory Large Feathers” bring extra dimension and interest to the card. Metal embellishments are a must have on a masculine card.
Fall colors works really well for a card for a male friend or a relative. As on this card The Orange & Black Stitched Diamonds paper are the perfect base. Many Canvas Corp simple prints and accent papers can be easily transformed into any color palette with a few pumps of Glimmer Mist. Choose Simply Sheer Mists if you want to make sure your mist has no glimmer and glam.
Distressing the flowers, doilies and lace is a great look and almost reminds us of flowers that may have been in a wedding or prom boutonniere. One might think that flowers are only for women, but men give the gift of flowers and do wear them for special occasions.
