Metal Heart Journal Cover #RACCBMATCHUP

What a FABULOUS month of creativity with Relics & Artifacts! We just love all the creativity and enthusiasm, the designers of both teams, showed. May of the designers created multiple creations and today we want to share Crew Member Marie Johannson’s “bonus creation” Metal Heart Journal Cover along with our PRIZE GIVEAWAY WINNER!

Marie’s thoughts

I just knew the moment I received the product for the #RACCBMATCHUP what I wanted to do with the resin heart that came with my Relics & Artifacts sample. I visioned it on a book cover and there my inspiration started. I decided to paint the Canvas Corp Tabbed book with black matte gesso before I started to decorate the cover. After drying I created a marble effect using the Naturally Aged Kit – Marble. Then covered parts of the book with corrugated paper & the Tin Tile “Onyx”.

I wanted to incorporate something soft in the otherwise hard looking cover, and found a delicate flower in my stash. I sprayed it with Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist to get the right coordinating color. With the kit came a piece of natural burlap and I cut out leaves from it by first gluing on paper leaves, then cutting around them. I also painted them with a cote of Glimmer Glam “Bon Bon”.

The striking quote come from the packaging of the Architextures Tin tile, and was slid into a Metal Label holder. I finished off the cover with different art stones, and splatters of mist.
