I’m bursting at the seams to show you my projects this month. Every month we’ve worked on a different material and this month was metal…hmm…the wheels started turning as I looked around to see what I had that I could repurpose. It didn’t take long to find some items that looked like they could use some prettying up. Here’s my 1st project…an old sun catcher that I had hanging on my porch. I scrubbed and cleaned it then I got to work with some new Chalkboard Glimmer Mist and plenty of Glimmer Glam. I started with a thick layer of Glass Bead Gel Medium to texturize the rays and covered it with the new & improved Chalkboard colors ~ Alaskan Salmon, Firefly & Polka Dot Pink. Then for the sparkle & glitter I wanted I applied several layers of Glimmer Glam in Be Positive, Lipstick Pink, Peach Bellini & Rockin’ on Sunshine.
Here are some other pics that show the dazzling effects of the Glimmer Glam:
I found a candle lantern that needed some glamorizing so I first covered it using Chalkboard Glimmer Mists: Grape Ape, Cornflower Daze, Teal High Heel & Evergreen. Now that I had my base colors on I went to work with my Glimmer Glam in Blue Suede Shoes, Dirty Martini & Mermaid. When I finished I realized that the lantern was too open so out came the Prima Butterflies in various shades of blue & white and they received the same Glimmer Glam colors used on the lantern. Still missing something I added my Buddha… and now call it BUTTERFLY BUDHA and it sits proudly in my foyer.
Being a member of this design team, in the company of the most talented artists, has forced me to kick it up a notch. The next project doesn’t translate well in the photos…looks better in person. I took a few tips & techniques from fellow members. My CREATE ART canvas was so much fun to work on. I started with an old clothing pattern and used that for some interest {did a quick white wash}…that was covered with Snow Queen and Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and some stamping with the Screen Print Clear Stamps ~Architectural Trims and black Staz-On ink. For detail I used Graphic 45 papers, laser-cut die cut, Tim Holtz Grungeboard letters {used SEVERAL different Glimmer Mists & Glazes to get the colors…proves that you can’t make a mistake with Tattered Angels}. For the metal embellishments I used Tar High Heel Chalkboark mist, Mermaid Glimmer Glam brushed with a tiny bit of Hayride Glimmer Glam. I’m really please with the project…so many steps I know I’ve forgotten many of. Bottom line…Tattered Angels paint products were used to create this!
The month isn’t over so make sure you come on back and check out Nicole{2/24}, Peg {2/26}, Sherry {2/28} and JJ’s (2/30} metal projects. You will not be disappointed. See you next month 😉
