Hi again:)
As you know this month on TA blog we show many possiblies of using Tattered Angels paint products… to be honest – they work perfectly on almost everything: paper, wood, acrylic, glass, fabric, metal – the sky is the limit!
My first project is mixmedia layout on paper made by Canvas Corp – it is in beautiful craft color, which is perfect for many different project starting with vintage and finishing with artsy and freestyle. The whole collage is painted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists: Slate, Turquoise Blue, Frost and Moonlight, Chalkboard Glimmer Mist – Teal High Heel and gesso.
In the background you can see Tattered Angels crakle stamp and checked stamp from Prima. The rainy cloud and the “puddle” is all build with Mistable Canvas Sheet (Prima) cut out or torn into pieces, some torn fabric, cotton tapes (Prima) and paper tape from 7 Gypsies. There are also Prima paper flowers and numbers, misted in the same colors as the rest of the compostition and chipboard elements: all set together to get grungy, textured look. The raindrops falling from the cloud are made with Chalkboard Glimmer Mist – I wanted them to be more visible on the dark background and more intensive, matte color of Teal High Heel worked here perfectly!
My second project is a canvas shadowbox, which is decorated mostly with cotton tapes, chipboard elements (Dusty Attic), lace and a bit of metal objects. The main point of interest here is a vintage salt cellar – which looks like a small metal teapot. I found it on the flea market and fell in love from the first sight!
I tried to get a bit oriental, fairy-tale look, so I decided to choose rich, gold and orange palette: I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist: Candy Apple Red, Black Magic, Harvest Orange, Tiger Lily, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam: Golden Goddes, Hay Ride, Paprika and to finish the project Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze: Oil Slick and Chianti. If you’ll look closer you’ll also see Prima Marketing metal flower and Say-it-in-Pearls centers, Dusty Attic Chipboards – hex net, wings and ornate corners and metal gears, pearls and – finally – an old watch.
I decorated the salt cellar with chipboards and watch elements. I covered the chosen embellishments with Glimmer Glaze and use Glimmer Glam to paint the chipboards – they became mist – resistant and started to sparle beautifully. After that the whole project was misted with the red, orange and gold shades of Glimmer Mist. I covered the plastic and metal elements with Glimmer Glaze too – to match the color palette.
My last propopsal for today is an altered book – made as a gift. This time Tattered Angels paints were used on paper, fabric cover, metal coins, chipbord and laces… did I mention I love painting lace? The effects are always beyond amazing!
The whole fabric cover was sprayed with Glimmer Mists: Viva Pink, Olive Vine, Golden Terracota and Black Magic. I used some rub-ons, flower and chipboards (Scrapiniec) painted with Sugar Cane Glimer Glaze to decorate it and give it a “final touch”.
Inside of the book was cut out – the remaining pages were painted with delicious shades of orange, olive and pink Glimmer Mist. I used masks to create an eye-cathing pattern on the front pages and added some Prima lace, sprayed with darker colors of Glimmer Mist.
Inside the project you can see metal coins, a gear and chipboard wings and fence. The coins were sticked and covered with gel medium, and then sprayed heavily with Glimmer Mists, and dried right away with a heating tool. The Dusty Attic wings and fence are covered with Gloden Goddes Glimmer Glam – it is really rich and shiny gift!
I hope you enjoyed this blogpost and found some inspiration for your further creations – as you see Tattered Angels products are very versatile and useful, no matter what kind of surface you are working with:)
I wish you all happy misting – see you soon!
