This month the Tattered Angels DT is showing off TA’s paint systems and I’ve chosen one of my favourites to create with: The Prima Marketing Hummingbird Paint System. This pack comprises four very versatile colours: Chalk Chalkboard, Rum Punch Glimmer Mist, Espresso Bean Glam and Waterfall Glaze.
I decided to have some mixed media fun with the paint system and came up with this first project of mine. I recycled an old toy box which was about to be discarded and turned it into a grungy box.
I covered the box with Prima’s Printery patterned papers and misted it all over with Chalk Chalkboard. I then took bits and bobs from my stash of leftovers and went to town covering the grungy collage with Rum Punch Mist and slathered on some Espresso Bean Glam.
My second project is an altered wooden peg. Again, I experimented with some mixed media, this time choosing a softer romantic theme of pale blues and whites mixed in with lace and flowers. I used Chalk Chalkboard and Waterfall Glaze on the heart-shaped peg.
My last project is a monochromatic layout in shades of red.
I created my own background using a brick wall mask from Prima and Rum Punch Mist. I love all the new stencils that are available on the market now. Creating your own backgrounds couldn’t be easier. 🙂 And this one blends in perfectly with the patterned paper from Authentique. Another of my favourite elements in the layout is the lamp post, which I misted over with Chalk Chalkboard.
Have fun experimenting with your mists, chalkboards, glams and glazes. 🙂
Cheers!
Sue
