No Sew Christmas Table Runner

Christmas is right around the corner and if you haven’t already, you may be thinking about pulling out those decorations from storage! We’ll soon be seeing the neighborhood houses put up their lights, hang wreaths on their doors, and set up their Christmas trees- whether real or fake! Once you have your outdoors and indoors decorated, don’t forget the table! A festive runner and a pretty centerpiece can really make your dining room stand out.

The 7gypsies collection Gypsy Seamstress is a wonderful collection of vintage pieces that bring together fabric, paper and vintage printed goodness. These pennant pieces are 14 ounce canvas with a special printed paper that feels so much like canvas and creates a vintage printed fabric feel. While they are paper and cannot be washed, they are sturdy enough to sew, fold and work with. Just spot clean where you need to and enjoy the vintage look!

Dana has a beautiful table runner to share with us today. We love the fact that it’s no sew! Many of us try to avoid pulling out the sewing machine because it is either buried in the back of the closet, we just don’t have time, or maybe we aren’t confident enough in our sewing abilities to try! Whatever the case, knowing how to pull off a fun project without sewing is always a win.

Materials:

7 Gypsies Vintage Pennant – Pine Tree (3)
7 Gypsies Vintage Pennant – Noel (3)
7 Gypsies Vintage Pennant – Holly Berries (3)
7 Gypsies Vintage Pennant – Holiday Table (3)
Canvas Corp Canvas Table Runner ( 14 x 72 inches)
Canvas Corp 12×12 Burlap Sheet – Red
Canvas Corp 12×12 Burlap Sheet – Green
Canvas Corp 12×12 Printed Canvas
Canvas Corp Fabric Panel – Farmhouse Christmas
Canvas Corp Ticking Fabric – Green
Fusible Bonding Web (1 13 yard Roll)

Step 1

Cut 14 triangles, the same size as the Vintage Pennants, from colorful burlap sheets, ticking fabric, and printed canvas. Lay the fabric triangles and Vintage Pennants along the edge of the table runner in a pleasing arrangement. 13 triangles will fit across each side of the table runner with the points meeting in the middle.

Step 2

Cut Fusible Bonding Web and place along the edges of each fabric triangle. Lay the fabric triangles along the edge of the table runner, cover with a damp press cloth, and iron for about 10 seconds to fuse the fabric together. Allow to cool. Repeat this process for each triangle.

Step 3

Here is a portion of the finished table runner. Try using a different combination of Vintage Pennants and Canvas Corp fabrics to create a table runner that is perfect for a different holiday or everyday use.

We think those 7Gypsies pennants just look amazing on our canvas table runner! This would be a great Christmas and holiday project for your own home decor. Like Dana already mentioned, you could also switch up the colors and themes of the pennants for any season or occasion. Make one with a special person in mind and give as a gift!
