Hello everyone!
I am Veronika Galenko and I’d like to share with you mixed media canvas that I created with my son.
I love painting with him; it is so much fun and always has an interesting result.

One day we decided with my 3 years old son to paint something on canvas and used almost all my stash of Tattered Angel products. He chose all mists himself and made a really beautiful print on canvas. Then we added green drops and he decided to make circles. I thought “Oh my Gosh!” but did not stop him. He finished his painting and I saw beautiful leaves on the picture, then we added some blue mist and finally a bird started forming on the canvas. “Hey, look, I see a bird. I want to add some texture paints and use some templates”. So over the next few days, I added texture paste, Mists, Glimmer Glaze, Glimmer Glam and finally … there was a parrot. I then added Dew Drops and flowers to make this parrot more colourful and bright. One of our favourite fairy-tales is about a parrot who learned one word: “Tokano” so I named this canvas “Parrot”.

Materials used:
Glimmer Mist – Jack Frost, Mountain Mist, Sugar Maple, Key Lime Pie, Bahama Blue, Sun Sisters
Baseboard Mist Paint – Bittersweet
Chalkboard Mist Paint – Alaskan Salmon, Splash, Mantis, London Fog
Glimmer Glaze Paint – Purple Passion
Glimmer Glam – Berrylicious, Luck O’ the Irish
The Robin’s Nest dew drops
Texture paste, Stencils and brushes
First we took a snow white canvas and my 3 years old son chose his first colour of Glimmer Mist – Sun Sisters.

Starting the process of painting with mists is a bit tricky for a 3 years child, so he needed my help.

Other colours that my son chose were Chalkboard Mist Paint – Alaskan Salmon and Glimmer Mist – Mountain Mist.

Then we added some green splashes with Glimmer Glam – Luck O’ the Irish.

The picture looks tender and sweet.

Then he decided to make circles using his brush.

He finished his painting and I saw leaves in the picture, then we added Glimmer Mist – Jack Frost and finally I started seeing a bird forming.

Here is our bird.
Then during the next few days, I added texture paste with templates, various Mists, Glimmer Glaze, Glimmer Glam and finally created a parrot, which was decorated with flowers, metallic embellishments, beads and dew drops.
