Art Journals are so ‘in’ this season and here, at Canvas Corp Brands, we have everything you might need to get started. From 7gypsies Starter Journals and Architextures Books (which can be your bases), through a variety of embellishments like brass domes, Architextures basis and loads more, to Tattered Angels paints of all imaginable type and colour. With all the choice you can create anything and everything.
Aga Baraniak, our vintage art journalist in residence, is sharing with you her take on a rather unusual -but how effective!- vintage journalling with some metal elements. She uses bits of wire and metal chains as well as other brass bits and bobs. All that topped up with a bit of texture and colour and.. voila!
‘ I wanted to make a vintage style journal with a delicate industrial feel. It’s a story of two lovers who lost each other but whose aim is to find each other and their happiness again. The fate wasn’t merciful but the time will unite them again. I made a mixed media background with various shades of navy and purple. I finished by adding some stamps to the background. I used wire, screws and metal badges as embellishments – they add the industrial feel to the project and are my signature element. Adding calligraphy enriched the mood of the project.’ – says Aga.
