Are you familiar with Tattered Angels Calendar Kits & Starter Kits? There are 24 of them and they were designed to bring collections of paints together for the seasons, holidays or special events. Each kit comes with 4 one ounce bottles of paint. There are Mist kits which are all Mist Paints and there are Paint Kits which have a combination of different Tattered Angels Paints. The kits are a great option if you have never used Glimmer Mist before and want to give it a try, want to add some additional colors to your stash or to pick up a collection that is just perfect for that holiday project, seasonal decorations or just for fun.
The Calendar and Starter kits are considered kits, but they don’t have any rules or instructions, they are more about putting coordinating colors together that are fun to work with and help tell a color story. The Starter Kits are unique in that they also come with a few tags and fabric pieces that allow you to try out the paints before you apply them to your creative projects and in essence get you started!!!
This post would be way to long if we posted all the kits and all the projects so we hope just a few inspire. Sanna combined the English Garden Kit with some of her Glimmer Mist colors she had in her stash to create this beautiful palette. To see the finalal project jump over to her blog – Papierstau
The same colors can look so very different depending on what you mist them on and how you put them together.Mist or paint onto paper, ribbon, wood, terra-cotta, book board, chipboard, burlap, canvas and more. The mist paints come with a pump applicator and for the paints we suggest your favorite brush.
Steampunk Mixed Media Bottle w/ Video Tutorial
Erin shows us how fun it can be to create with steampunk style using a bit of this and some of that and wow the results are so fun. This fun little statue is perfect for adding to a bookcase, setting on your desk at work or a gift for your favorite steampunk gal. The fun thing about projects like this is that there are no rules. Just play, have fun and try different things, you can always paint over anything you don’t like. You can also use trinkets that you have that may be the wrong color or out of style, but when you glitter them up they are a perfect touch.
I love to get my hands dirty and just play with the mediums I have on hand. My inspiration came when we finished our bottle of maple syrup and thought I could alter that, it had such a nice flat front perfect to layer things onto it!! I have had it sitting on my desk for the past 2 months waiting for the perfect spark to take me to the next step with it. I then got my batch of Creative Embellishment chippies and in it were some steampunk wings – perfect!! The last piece fell into place when I got the Tattered Angels Cruising Calendar kit of Glimmer Mists, I know had the perfect colors to go with my idea. Now to make it!!
Here is the complete process video from empty bottle with the labels peeled off to completion.
Below are the amazing supplies I used to create the colors and some of the little bits and bobs that helped bring this piece to life. I really loved using the Tattered Angels Calendar Mist Kit because it took the guess work out of what colors worked well with others to make an awesome product. When working with mixed media you have a blank canvas, you get to add the colors back in your self!! Sometimes that makes me pause and think what would be the best combo, with the Calendar Kits the guess work is gone and done for me!!
There are so many other options, 24 total, for the Calendar Kits to give you inspiration of your color palette!! Ranging from spring break (blues/whites/silver), Roses (reds and pinks), Lucky (green and yellow), and many many more!!! Not all the kits have just Glimmer mists in them, some have a mix of High Impact paints, Glimmer Mists, Glimmer Glams, and more!!! It is also a way of getting more paint variety for a little cost!!!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you get your hands dirty too!!

Just Think Spring Tag
For a recent blog hop we had with Bella Blvd, Lynne used the same kit Erin did, Cruising Calendar Kit to create this spring themed tag and the look could not be more different.
The kits can also be coordinated with your favorite printed paper collection to allowing you to add just the right touch of colors where you want them. The Sweet, Sweet Spring Collection from Bella Blvd is a perfect match.

There are so many options for combining the colors of just one kit – imagine if you had a collection of kits, the possibilities are endless.
So we focused on just one kit, but there are 24 to choose from plus 4 Starter Kits that are a great way to pick up the basics, see what colors you love and then you can add to your collection. Here is the Brights Starter Kit
You can paint with them, mist with them, mix them, ombre with them to get a wide range of colors. The colors can be blended by simply spraying the “red” and “blue” you will get purple or the “yellow” and “red” and get orange – so much fun to play with.
Perfect on paper and on
canvas
The Primary Starter Kit has just what you would expect – red, yellow and blue with a green just for good measure. This paper was watercolored by using just the 4 paints offered in the Primary Starter Kit. You can add water and lighten them, blend them or add multiple coats and deepen them. This paper is by Canvas Corp – Black and White Dot Reverse and is a great place to start when making your own mixed media background. It might be simple adult coloring, but filling in the dots is fun and there are no two alike.
Now it is time to have a little fun with the Neutral Starter Paint Pack. While to colors are very fun to work with, we love the beauty of neutral. Just blend the 4 colors together and you can create amazing backgrounds that are the perfect place to start your next mixed media project.
To finish out the starter collection we have to have a Metallic Starter Set. The metallic truly look metallic, especially when misted on paper. The photo does its very best to capture the shimmer.
So if you have not yet given Glimmer Mist or the Tattered Angels Paints a try, what a fun way to get started and we can only apologize if you get hooked!!!!
We thought it would be fun to put the Starter Kits and Calendar Kits on Sale for the Month of April. Regularly 19.99-14.99 – they are all on sale for $9.99. Grab one or grab a few and start your collection of Glimmer Mist and Tattered Angels Paints.
