Hello! It’s Ava here today!
I have an unusual Christmas project for you… I hope you like it.
Non-traditional Christmas trees are very eye catching and interesting. Rustic Vintage mixed media trees tend to draw a person’s interest to take a second look and examine more closely the elements of the presentation.
Products used for the project:
Any cone shaped item (Ava used two bottles here)
7gypsies – American Vintage Mixed Media Pad – Ava used a sheet of Green Burlap
Canvas Corp – 12×12 Burlap Sheet Natural
Canvas Home Basics – White waxed cotton Cord
Maya Road stick pins
Pearls, Rhinestones
Glue Dots Adhesive
Fine Wire
Cut your piece of burlap in a circular fashion. Tip, practice with a circular piece of paper to get the correct circle size (you can even try to create a template).
Using glue dots, starting from the bottom of the shape, wrap the burlap and adhere as you wrap towards the top of the tree.
Using glue dots, arrange the cording in a circular fashion as you wrap your burlap tree with the rope acting as a garland.
Arrange and add some stick pins to the top of your tree which makes for an interesting topper from the norm of a star.
Wrap wire around the cording to achieve the curly cork look to your tree top.
Different sizes and shapes of cones can be covered to achieve a tree like appearance.
Wrapping with burlap gives the trees texture and adds interest.
Add a small gift to complement the trees and your home decor has a triangle graphic grounded presentation.
What do you think? They are pretty cool and unusual, don’t you think? Perfect addition to a rustic Christmas home decor.
Thank you for visiting the blog today and I hope to see you on my Instagram and blog.
Happy crafting!
