Canvas Corp has just released two brand new nautical collections full of inspiring papers, fabrics and tags. This week, myself and other Creative Crew members were challenged to create from the Sand n’ Sea or Sails n’ Shells line. I’ve created this layout using the newest papers from the Sand n’ Sea collection. In this new collection you’ll find an array of kraft papers printed with white nautical artwork in a theme inspired by the lighter components of the ocean (sand, shells, etc.)
For many of us in the states, this winter has been cold and harsh with lots of snow and freezing rain. It has left me longing to be in a warmer climate near the ocean…
Since it doesn’t look like I will be getting my wish any time soon, creating a sandy layout with the beautiful papers in the nautical line will have to do!
This line is full of beautiful images to be fussy cut and displayed, like the ragged banners and fun seashells and sea stars as well as several little title and quote pieces…

There are also some beautiful rectangle “stitched” images that worked perfectly on the large Canvas Tags.
I love how realistic the stitching looks. I decided to keep the tags very simple. I didn’t add any mists or inks…just some burlap and words from other pages from the paper line. Part of me wanted to watercolor over the artwork with some mists, but I refrained!
Of course I could have added a few more details like some mists or tiny shells, but I really liked it just how it was…which is very unusual for me.
