There are plenty of ready made chipboard or cardboard shapes but what if you’re looking for something simple and you cannot find it? The answer is simple – you’re a crafter, right? Do it yourself!
Our Crew member, Ilana Polakiewicz cut a big sheet of thick cardboard into small house shapes and using collage technique embellished them to make shabby chic gifts for her friends.
I wanted to make shabby chic houses using cardboard, papers, Architextures elements, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and other items to give to my friends. I used the layering and mixed media collage technique to achieve the shabby chic feel. I hope you like them! – says Ilana.
Ilana used the following materials:
Cardboard sheets to cut the houses
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists – Gold and Wedding Pink
Architextures Junque Pack – Parlour
7gypsies ephemera
pages of an old book
Distress Stickles in various colours
metallic paste (old silver)
gesso, glue, craft knife, ruler
Ilana shares her creative process below:
This is it! Your set of gorgeous, shabby mini houses is finished and ready to be given away to your friends and close ones.
We’re sure they’ll enjoy receiving them as much as you enjoyed making them.
Happy crafting!!!
