Sweet Bunny Project

Only a few more days till Easter, can you believe it? And its the first day of Spring, that means warmer weather and outside adventures. Even a second Alice in Wonderland movie is on its way.  Every time a rabbit project pops up, I think of Beatrix Potter and the Rabbit from Wonderland, scurrying around to make his appointments.
This latest project from CCB Crew Member Jennifer Hottinger-Sloan is the perfect example of storybook decor. Its just the right piece to jazz up your home decor all year. After all bunnies just don’t disappear after Easter, they hop around all year, unless you are the Easter Bunny in Jennifer’s fun project.
To make your own version you just need a few simple supplies that might be hanging around your studio. If you don’t have a wooden bunny cutout that has a deep insert, try a paper mache bunny. Replace the silk flowers with paper or canvas flowers from the Canvas Corp line.

Purchase a wooden bunny form from the craft store or discount dollar store.  Then spray it with blue spray paint or Tattered Angels Decor & DIY Paint to cover.

Then line the edge of the bunny with strips of CCB blue and ivory mini dot, glue in place.

Insert several silk flowers inside the bunny and glue in place. Next tie wax cording around around the bunny and add 6 canvas tags tying onto the line with the jute.

Finally spell out the word Easter onto the tags using stickers of choice. You can even try using chipboard letters that are painted or inked with Tattered Angels mists. Then add two CCB medium clothes pins to complete your piece.
