May is almost over…where did the time go? Seems like Spring just started yet we are already heading into summer here in NC. I’ve been really busy this month with a huge studio transformation that isn’t quite yet done…but while dismantling my studio I found to my delight some projects that required a little TLC.
When I mist I always mop up the surplus with either paper towels, watercolor paper or a shipping tag. Here is one of these mop tags that I turned into a sweet tag. I can’t really tell you which colors I used because I just keep adding colors as I work. The hearts were punched from a paper towel covered with Chandelier Glimmer Glam…I wish you could see how sparkly they are. With some added stamping, Washi Tape and Tim Holtz Ideology pieces it is complete.
Another project is a journal cover that created last year and I never finished it…I love what I had created but somehow it got pushed to the side. Upon closer examination I realized that it needed to be finished. Out came my Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in Paprika and Glimmer Mist in Sugar Maple…the wooden word EXPLORE got several coats of sparkle and adhered with Helmar 450 Quick Dry to the front cover. Other embellishments had previously been created with various Tattered Angels products including Spring Fling and Rockin’ On Sunshine.
Last month I shared a DT project that I started in 2011 and am determined to complete. This month I was able to complete two 4×6″ LO’s to add to the 7Gypsies Library Drawer system. The 1st card I utilized a scrap piece from a fabulous Pink Paislee resist paper that used several Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in various shades of blue & purple. The watercolor paper on which I stamped this quote was a leftover piece from another blog post. I never throw away any scrap papers that I have used Tattered Angels products on.
The Home LO utilizes another scrap piece of watercolor paper with random stamping and a photo is now ready to be placed in the Library Drawer…
Well that’s it for the month of May…the DT has lots of exciting things up there sleeves for June so make sure you stop back to see how we finish off May and then for what’s coming.
