At Canvas Corp, we offer a wide range of blank canvas and burlap items that we cut and sew in our Springdale facility. These items come in a range of sizes, shapes and designs and in some cases are not even burlap or canvas, but for example, denim. Our range of blank products is prefect for adding your own personal touch to the items.
With that in mind, we thought it would be fun to see what can be done with a blank canvas book cover and our Crew member, Dale Seth did not disappoint!!! She transformed her cover into a personalised travel tea bag holder – you know, for when you want to take your favourite teas with you on your travels rather than risk being served some questionable liquids…
Dale used to make her holder:
Canvas Corp Paperback Book Cover 5.25″ x 7.5″
Canvas Corp Ticking Fringe – Black
Tattered Angels Decor & DIY Paint – Indigo
Button, Little piece of velcro
Couple of strands of burlap
Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
Scissors and Masking Tape
- Cover stripes were taped off and painted with Indigo Decor & DIY Paint, and the works were hand painted using the same. A smaller piece of ticking fringe was folded, glued and then glued to the back and a small piece of velcro glued to the front for closing. A button with a few strings of burlap was added to the little closing flap
- Inside – black ticking was glued to form pockets for the tea pouches, the string (book marker) from the paperback cover was glued inside, wrapped around the outside to form a “handle” and then glued to the inside and cut.
Functional – yes!
Pretty – yes!
Great idea – most definitely!!!
