June is here, which means it’s time to share with you the first part of the May travels of our Art Journals. Our Crew is spread all over the world and the journals are slowly making their way visiting the fabulous places filling up with beautiful, one-off pieces of art.
As usual, the entries are full of Tattered Angels colours, gypsy musings and Canvas Corp embellishments. Each of them is completely different but all are full of passion and soul.
See for yourself…
‘My inspiration came out of being diagnosed and treated for anaemia and the feeling it gave me to at last be able to do the things I really wanted to do without feeeling exhausted or in other words, breaking free.’
‘When I saw Shannon Green outlining stenciled pages, I thought that would be a very cool technique to use for this journaling. And the result looked like wallpaper to me so I hung a frame up as well as some books that could be on a shelf next to it!’
‘I am totally in love with everything Architextures! For this page I used scraps of various papers as well as Rub-Ons and pieces from a Parlour Junque Pack. All that covered in Tattered Angels Paints – it’s just layers of texture and colour!’
‘Unlock those Doors!!! Ever have those times when you just need to give yourself that extra push – stepping up and stepping out and take a chance!!! It’s never too late.’
‘I wanted to create something messy and dark. And here it is’
‘I was inspired by this quote – To travel is like a feather in the wind – the adventure is unknown until you arrive at the destination. I wanted to play with the new Feather Architextures! I added texture with modeling paste as well as with the burlap, canvas and feather.’
Architextures Tall Base: Feathers
Canvas Corp Mix and Match pad – Sand and Sea
Glimmer Mist Starter Kit – Brights
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Coffee Shop
‘When I was going through my CCB stuff, I read this quote – and I immediately had a picture in my head, how I would use it on a page. And this is what I came up with.’
YVA LOVEE BARBOUR
‘This art journal page was the first piece of art I’ve made since my big move! It was inspired by how much life can change some times and how things always seem to fall into place, even if they don’t always end up how we thought they would.’
7gypsies Mixed Media Junque Pack
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Black Cherry and Fully Purple
Tattered Angels High Impact Paint Red, Turquoise, Blue and White
Tattered Angles Plain Jane Baseboard Paint Coal
‘I was thinking about mermaids this month as for some artists it is ‘Mermay’. I believe the trend was started by a Disney animator few years ago. So I used a couple fun techniques with my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists in bright colors to bring to life this mermaid finding a pearl under the sea.’
‘I was really inspired to use some of my new Glimmer mists.’
So… the first 12 ladies have shared their creations with you for this month.
There are 12 more to come in a couple of weeks. The Travelling Art Journals look pretty impressive, don’t they? Remember that you could become a proud owner of one of the two journals at the end of their travels later on this year; all you have to do is sign up to follow our blog and leave us some love on AT LEAST 6 of the TRAVELING ART JOURNAL posts. Just think of all the amazing inspiration you are getting from just one post!
If you’d like to see more of what is going on behind the scenes of the CCB Traveling Art Journal on regular basis, keep searching for our hashtag #ccbtravelingartjournal or #ccbtravellingartjournal (we know it is spelled both ways – so they both count). Finally, why not join our Collective – there’s always something going on there.
See you again mid-JUNE!
