Violets-Inspired Wall Art Project

Hey, crafty people! I am Michelle Wells. I have once worked in a floral shop, and while I am not a florally kind of gal in my home decor, I absolutely love flowers as accessories.

The more vivid the color and fragrance the better aesthetically.
I absolutely loved working on this Violets-inspired wall art project.

I used cut paper flowers in deep purple the shape of violets. To enhance the purple, I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Fully Purple, layering the spray twice. While the fliers were still damp, I used my flower shaping stylus tools to shape the petals, and then added a dollop of Tattered Angels Chalkboard in Canary to the center of each flower. Final steps for the flowers was dipping premade pearl stamens into the TA Chalkboard Canary, letting them air day, then gluing the flower together each flower. I also used the TA Color Wash in shades of Purple Rain & White Wash, one layer each, to give shading to the top flower of each to complete.

For the base, the 7Gypsies Architextures Art Board, I used the 7Gypsies Architextures Short Base Doilies as a stencil pattern, followed by using the Tattered Angels Baseboard in Gravel. After drying with a heat tool, I lightly sprayed/splattered with the TA Glimmer Mist Full Purple, for background to the TA Origins Mini Art design.

Using a chipboard frame, I first texture embossed with an embossing folder, and applied TA High Impact Paint in Rose Gold using my finger. While the paint was drying, I used TA Plain Jane Simply Sheer in Un-Birthday & Peony, along with TA Glimmer Mist in Fully Purple as “watercolors” for the Mini Art design, applying with paint brushes. Once everything had dried, I glued the Mini Art design to the chipboard frame.

To put it all together, I used the mixed media glue. I added the letter “V” from the Canvas Corp Chocolate and Ivory Press Alpha Paper lightly edge distressed with distressing tool & ink.

I also used one of the Architextures Short Base Doilies as a design element and added lace trim.
