Hi!
In April all the Design Team members take you, our readers, to their creative spaces: rooms, ateliers, corners… well, if we speak about corners – welcome in my small , cluttered, messy craft space. I cleaned it especially for you – and I’m very proud of myself 😉 Last time it was so clean months ago!
I’ve got a space of about 5 m2 to fit with all my stuff – it is not much, especially I’m a collector, who tries to store allfound stuff in one place. Organising myself was pretty challenging…
My creative space is consisting of a set of L shaped kitchen tables, with a cork board above to pin the most important notes, projects or precious gifts from my friends. I use to put there my favorite Tattered Angels screens and other stencils too – to find them easier. The masks I don’t use at this timeare in the plastic folders on my desk. I also use metal boxes for embellishments and flea market treasures. There’s a space for my sewing machine, which I use almost everyday.
In the second corner there are fle market shelves with embellishments and other important stuff: The wooden chest is full of inks and rub-ons, the baskets – photos, flowers and ephemera.
I store my acrylic stamps in the empty CD boxes, which makes them easy to find without opening the box. I am Ikea fan, and most of my storage ideas are taken from them – like those pink and black buckets filled with tools.
Next to the desk there is a big shelf, with a lot of my 3D projects on the top, more flea market findings and crafting tools. I put most of my canvases on the wall, as a decoration which also saves space on my shelves 😉
My Tattered Angels paints are in organisers under the desk – easy to reach with one hand without standing up from the chair. They Glimmer Mists are sorted by color. The other metal baskets are full of acrylic paint, gel mediums, paintbrushes, inks and different embellishments.
Here in the same basket I also store the Tattered Angels chipboards – very convinient!
I really love my creative corner, but on the other hand I really wish it was bigger. Storage and organisation is not easy when you don’t have enough space. I can tell you though that my husband is working on the 2 more shelves under the desk for my canvases and finished layouts. I can’t wait to have it!
And here is the project you could actually see on one of the photos above – grungy layout, all colored with Glimmer Mists in beautiful, delciate shades of pink and sand mixed with a touch of gold on the top – I put it on the embellishment using a paintbrush, not only spraying. To finish up – I added some gesso – it is one of my favorite techniques!
Thank you so much for visiting me! I hope you liked this “short visit” and we’ll see soon again. Big hugs!
Anna
