Viktoriya Porechnaya is our Wings on Wednesday guest this week with a mixed media canvas inspired by her daughter. With numerous layers and textures, she named her project ‘Tattered Angel’.
My daughter Dariia likes to take amazing photos or be in them and I like to use them for my work. This fantastic shot is in an old factory and her fairy hair inspired me to create this Tattered Angel Canvas. I used many different types of Tattered Angels mists, paints and unique 7gypsies Architextures items.
Materials used to make the Tattered Angel:
Tattered Angels Decor&DIY Paints – Ivory, Silver, Sable, Jade
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists – Electric Blue, Patina, Aged Brick, Lox, Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Tattered Angels Chalboard Mist Paints – Teal High Heel, Alaskan Salmon, Polka Dot Pink
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze – Fuzzy Coconut, Galaxy, Blue Oasis, Satchel
7gypsies Architextures 8×8 Paper Pad Collection #1
Architextures Artboard 8×10
Architextures Parchment Rub-On – Inspire
Architextures Junque Pack – Warehouse
Architextures Tall Base – Feathers
Architextures Short Base – Wings
Architextures Trinkets – Old Tin Cans
Clear medium or PVA glue, Texture paste, Metallic paints
Chipboards, Stencils, Brushes, Pallette Knife, Sponges
Tear some strips from Architextures papers and apply it to the base with clear medium or PVA glue, cover it also.
You can add some tissue paper too. Dry it.
Appply different strokes of Decor & DIY paints – Ivory, Silver and Blue or Jade.
When it dries, start to play with Glimmer Mists. Spray it, make to splashes and let it flow and dry it carefully.
Add some Parchment Rub-Ons to the background.
Use Junque sheets and create Warehouse style.
Then take stencils and apply Sable Decor & DIY paint with sponge to some places. Then add white texturing paste. Let it dry.
Then add more tones with Glimmer Mists on the textures.
While it dries, color chipboards with Glimmer Glazes, for feathers and wings I used metallic acrylic paints.
Create composition – add wings tio the photo and feathers on the background.
Then I mix Chalkboards Paints Alaskian Salmon and Polka Dot Pink to make color looks like my daughter’s hair and make splashes and “stamps” with bottle top.
Finally add some details – Rub-Ons, stars, Tin Cans and color splatters.
I hope you like my Tattered Angel!
Happy crafty Wednesday!!!
