We are back to our usual Tattered Angels Wings on Wednesday where we play with TA paints and papers and make projects with wings – end of the day we are Tattered Angels, right?
Today, we have for your Evelyn Walter who played with some Calendar Paint Systems to make the beautiful reversed canvas featuring a guardian angel and plenty of flowers.
‘Do you believe in Guardian Angels? I believe that there is a Guardian Angel for every single one of us, who takes care of us at hard times of our life. I had this little resin angel in my stash and wanted to make a soft and airy project, so I took a 20x20cm canvas, grabbed some Tattered Angels paints and mists and started creating.’ – says Evelyn.
Materials used:
Tattered Angels Calender Paint System: Spring Flowers (I used Simply Sheer: Baby Blue and Glimmer Mist Party Pink)
Tattered Angels Calendar Paint System: Cheers (used all paints and mists)
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist: Jack Frost, Boardwalk, Rolling Tide
7gypsies: Gypsy Mixed Media Pad Gypsy Moments (I used the Canvas)
20x20cm canvas
Resin Angel
DecoArt Decoupage glue
Gesso transparent and white
modeling paste
modeling clay
hot glue
tiny wooden spools
fabric
fibres
flowers from Prima and LaBlanche
pearl string silver
glitter
matte medium
Finnabair Mica Powder Gold
pearls
Tools:
scissors, brushes, stencil, palette knife, hot glue gun, heating tool,
Prima Vintage Art Decor Moulds “Louis”
I took the canvas from the Gypsy Mixed Media Pad “Gypsy Moments” and covered the surface of the reverse canvas. I used decoupage glue. To seal the surface, I put a layer of clear gesso on top.
I took a stencil and randomly applied modeling paste.
After all was dry, it was time for some color. I chose several blue tones and a hint of pink. I also painted the pieces of modeling clay, made with the Prima Marketing moulds, with the same blue mists. Then I took the High Impact Metallic Paints Silver and Antique Gold from the Calender Paint System “cheers” to create a metal look.
I prepared my little resin angel with wooden spools as spacers and painted all with white Gesso. I applied a thin coat Gesso on top of the canvas to tone it down a little bit.
From the Calender Paint System, I used the Antique Gold and Silver on the modeling paste. The Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist I sprayed all over the surface for a wonderful shine, the Black Magic Glimmer Mist added some depth to the edges.
Now, it was time to glue down thin white fabric, fibres, flowers, silver string and the little angel.
I colored the flowers very lightly with the blue GM to make them match better. When they were dry, I applied loose glitter with matte medium to the petals.
At last, I added some pearls in different sizes for even more shine.
The sentiment: I distressed and added it to the picture.

I’m into angels so that speaks to me! I have a question: I see these ‘fibers’ being used in projects all over the place. What is it & where do you get it? I’ve seen some use thread but this is thicker.
