Let’s welcome Irit Shalom to today’s edition of Wings on Wednesday with her ‘Use Your Wings’ Altered Canvas.
I am in love with all things with wings. It can be butterflies, birds, fairies or angels. Doing altered art with something that flies make me just happy and using Architexures to make such an art canvas makes it so easy. This canvas is all about CCB products: cardstock, Archtextures findings, Tattered Angels paints and mists. Also I used pre-made titles, but you can print yours in a second. Also I used a stencil on my background, but some mists and paints would create the same result.
Products used for the project:
7gypsies Architextures Song Bird Sings 12×12 Cardstock
7gypsies Architextures Parchment Rub-On – Pose
7gypsies Architextures Findings – Angel Wings
7gypsies Architextures Junque Pack – Cabana
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Curious, Jack Frost
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam – Bon Bon
Stencil Art Anthology
Home molded frame and angel
Titles Tim Holtz Quote chips
Texture paste Ranger
Add texture paste over the stencils (step not seen in the photo) and then tear the cardstock and glue over the canvas.
Mist the canvas with a mix of two blue Glimmer Mists.
Glue Junque Pack pieces as shown over the canvas – make sure you let it dry first!
Rub-on the wings from the pack over vellum and hand cut them.
Add Glimmer Glam splashes all over the canvas randomly.
Paint two molded pieces and Architextures wings with same Glimmer Glam.
Arrange the angel figurine over two pairs of wings as shown.
Mist the chipboard titles and glue them over the finished canvas.
Add more Bon Bon splashes and drips over the canvas.
This project was extremely easy to craft on canvas and even those of you who have never tried Mixed Media before, can follow the instructions above and make their own fun collage-like piece.
