Altered Mixed Media Envelope Mini Folder

There is nothing special about plain craft envelopes, right? Wrong! They are a perfect base for a variety of projects!
Here at Canvas Corp, we have a wide range of envelopes in a variety of seizes in ivory (cream), kraft, white.
You can add them to your junk journal, sew into it as an envelope, glue them together to make a book or follow Irit Shalom‘s idea and make an envelope mini folder.

This is an easy Mixed Media project made from three Canvas Corp Kraft envelopes. This is a fine example of an easy to make ” things to keep inside” folder that can be used to keepsakes from your travels, shows, trips or just to keep your favorite letters, post cards or whatever you fancy. There are three large envelope size slots to keep thing inside and a couple of large spots to add photos (not on this project).

Canvas Corp Black and Kraft Diamonds cardstock
Canvas Corp French paper collection
Canvas Corp Black and Ivory French script cardstock
Canvas Corp Black and Ivory postcards cardstock
Canvas Corp Bon Voyage stripe on Ivory cardstock
Canvas Corp Heirloom: Cameras on Ivory cardstock

Glue three Kraft envelopes one over another as shown

This is how it should look when all three are glued and when closed to a kind of a folder

Add texture paste over stencil om the front on the top envelope and let it dry

Cut the piece of Paris cardstock and glue over the front as shown and add half of magnet under the upper cardstock

Hand cut the Script piece to cover the envelope flap as shown and add the second part of closure magnet under the Script cardstock piece

Mist the front with Coffee Shop Glimmer mist

Glue a piece of Lace cardstock over each of three envelopes insides as shown. Hand cut the cardstock patterns and glue them over the lace cardstock. Lightly mist each part with a mix of Crocheted Doily and Sugar Maple Glimmer Mists

This is how the middle and low parts look after misting and when it’s all opened. Add a post card into each slot.

Make embellishments cluster with die cut doily and die cut leaves and paint them with black and aqua High Impact paints for the interest.Add silk and paper flowers and paint over the petals with the same paints as well

Embellish the flap as shown.
