How is everyone on this sunny Saturday? I am Elizabeth Robinson and I’d like to share with you my latest art journal entry. Butterflies are a symbol of new beginnings and 2018 is my new beginning, so…
Don’t give me that look! I was created to create!
Products used:
7gypsies Architextures Parchment Rub-On – Pose
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Afraid of the Dark, Merlot Gold
Tattered Angels Baseboard Paint – Wave, Gerber, Daffodil
Architextures Mix and Match Book 8.5×11 Bee
Canvas Corp Butterflies on Ivory 12×12 Paper
White Gesso, Scissors, Paintbrush
Remove a floral page from your journal and dry brush it with white gesso and dry.
Choose and trim out the saying and the ladies face from the Pose set of Rub-Ons and apply using a lolly stick to the page.
Cut off the sentiment from the inside of the Rub-On packaging.
From the Butterflies on Ivory paper, cut out the large Butterfly from the top left-hand side.
Next take small amounts of both Daffodil and Gerber paint onto your craft mat.
Spritz water onto the mat and add a mix of the two colours together, to create a peachy skin tone shade.
I know they look look too bright, but trust me it works.
Colour the face using your newly created shade of paint, and add shading to the cheeks and lips with more of the Gerber paint.
Spray a little of the Afraid of the Dark Glimmer Mist onto your craft mat and add a couple of drops of water to dilute the colour. Paint in the hair and add shows down the outside edge of the neck.
Take the colour down into the bottom right-hand corner, and build up the colour to a deeper shade.
Add a small amount of colour to the top left-hand side corner, and blend down towards the wording.
Rather than wipe of my work mat, I used the left over spray to add splatters to the page, being careful not to get any on the face.
I built up the colour of the Butterfly using Wave Basebord paint and then adding Merlot Gold Glimmer Mist.
I repeated this a couple of times until the colours blended together.
Once the Butterfly was dry I added it to the page, giving the Lady a Butterfly body.
I also added the sentiment from the packaging, to the bottom right-hand corner.
To finish off the page I added hightlights and doodles using a Sakura White Gelly Roll in size 10.
I hope you like my art journal entry!
Have a great weekend!
